If you have several plants at different heights, is it better to top the tallest one and wait till the others have caught up, or top them all at the same time? My tallest plant is ready to top at 10", however the other 3 are ranging between 5-7 inches tall. All input is welcome and appreciated.
I grow as many as six plants per grow. Each plant has its own SCROG frame so if different plants grow to different heights I just set the frame for each plant at the required height.
Normally I set all of the SCROG frames to the same height and train each plant to that height to get the best light coverage.
Excellent advice. Would it be too much to ask to see a picture of your SCROG frames?
This is the best way. For the reasons you’re seeing. You can keep topping until the others catch up or raise the other plants if there’s enough space between the net and pots.
Extra good! First time SCROGGING. I feel a little giddy! It’s amazing what a healthy grow can do to an old heart! Feel like a kid again!!!
Here is a link to my journal where you can look at photos of my SCROG frames.
If you scroll about you can see them in various stages of growth.
Do not look at Weed Wizards scogs! You will be super envious!
You are a laugh riot…thanks tho.
Heading there now
Awesome! Thanks Brother!!
Scrogs create some amazing yields. I throw one up every chance I get. I just hate having to trim what they produce.
Good problem to have though
True, but you forget that when you’re on hour 8 and still see a bunch of branches to go still.
You are certainly right about that @BobbyDigital , it takes a minimum of 4 or 5 days to harvest six plants with 12 to 16 zips per plant. My next grow will be just two plants so I don’t have so much excess bud laying around.
Im sure someone has already said this. LST the large one. Low Stress Trainning. Train it to be shorter but wider. Give the others time to catch up a bit. Scrogging is sinply a methode to keep an even canopy. Maximize light across an even surface.
Happy growing…
