Hi,
I was reading through replies, old posts, and journals trying to find some clarity on scrog height and timing. I couldn’t reply to the journal posts, and they were years old ha.
Just curious if you could fill me in? I have an understanding of the basics: why, what to use, etc. this is my first time attempting to scrog. And only my 3rd plant. I will use a better scrog next time after reading through your posts. This round I’ll be using a trellis net that came with my grow tent.
It’s been about 30 days since sprouted.
Thank you!

My SCROG net is about 15 inches above the soil. That height is just how it worked out in my grow space. I made my SCROG carts adjustable to accommodate different plant growth rates.
I veg and tuck until the netting is about 75% filled. Then flip and continue to tuck and train for another week or so.

for the reply. It’s clear from your journals you know what you’re doing.
Should I continue to LST or just lower my trellis/scrog and let it start working through? Tops of the plant are right around 16” from soil. I’m growing in a 2x2 fwiw
Here is an updated photo with recent LST

It looks like your space is already full. The idea of using the SCROG is to train the plant outward to restrict height and along with LST produce many tops.
If your space is as full as it looks in the photo, I would flip very soon. The plant can nearly double in height after flipping.
If I am not addressing your actual question, let me know. I will try again.
Edit: I am assuming that your plant is a photo-period.

You are definitely ready to SCROG if that is your goal. I make my screen adjustable for height to deal with different plants’ growth rates.

Well, so I’m learning haha. I’ve got a second plant in the tent.
It’s a couple weeks behind the one in the pics. The first plant I did in the tent was a fem fast photo. She was healthy and pretty, but I only got 2oz off her and she didn’t dominate the space in the tent. There was plenty of room for a second…hence the 2nd plant now.
These genetics are better and are just fem photos. I’m gonna have to get creative, I think (maybe let the northern lights only grow upwards and not train?). I guess I’m open to advice given this situation…I was planning to scrog and maybe keep it to half the tent and letting the other plant use the other half of the scrog. After researching through posts, I know this isn’t ideal. But I’ve got 2 plants cooking at this point…

I’ve got a 3x3 tent. Current setup, no other space to grow. Given my situation, would you recommend scrogging or let the two plants grow more free to maximize available space?
~18” canopy to lights. I still have 6” between light and inline exhaust if I need a bit more space
Next time I will only grow one plant. (But there are worse pickles to be in)

You could start a net on the left one or supercrop and leave it to do it’s thing. I normally run lights as low as possible (6") and still have a canopy footprint.

Oops accidentally deleted post.
How does this scrog look? It’s the first attempt so any feedback would be helpful.
I am about to remove the leaves below the canopy.

How long since you flipped to flower?
Haven’t flipped to flower yet. I’m waiting for the other plant to get a bit further along. Not scrogging her. Just topping and letting her run out.
(I now know not ideal, so trying to make best of this situation. This small tent my only grow space - learned for next round tho)

You will run out of room for the plant shown. As you say will need to just deal with it. I flip based on the most advanced plant in the room in order to be able to control the growth pattern. I flip when the first plant fills about 75% of the net.

Once you flip do you still train horizontally to fill out net or let it start growing vertically?

Yes, I continue to tuck for about a week or so after flipping. I tuck until the first plant fills the SCROG. If a slower plant seems to be stretching particularly, I may continue to tuck that plant for a few more days.
