Hey @DEEPDIVERDAVE did you feel that earthquake last night? Not far from your place! Was 3.8 magnitude, just off Victoria, not far from Port Townsend. Around 3 am.
Slept thru the rains, all night.
monsoon still coming in waves.
Guess summer grow over.
Scuba lessons needed for ladies.
Got it.
Woo hoo. Half a roof completed. Door figured out, split barn door style. Thanks to the booster wall. 12 feet tall at the roof truss.
Very exciting!! Looking good!
Growing “alone” is stressful enough.
I can grow, clone, and reveg, just not longer than a year.
Failed to get longer, sure feels like failure to launch and accomplish goal of 2-4 years with same plant )Moon shot failure, MARS beyond hope, still).
Family and calendar are beyond my control, last year and this year.
Last Disney, Last wedding, and damn sure last funeral this decade.
Re-veging needs 18-24 months for real success, IMO/IME.
Lights off, currently.
Spider mites, possible, I will check tonight.
Nute lock-out, possible, I will check soil upon harvest.
Critters probably.
Sprayed with Pure Crop 1.
Sprayed heavily.
Out of tent for harvest on TUE (need to get wash materials together).
Water in PH/PPM 6.4/300
Runoff water 6.2/2000
Lock out, probably
Outdoor will get chopped and washed also.
Yup.
Pure Crop Sprayed the tent occupants.
Cut, washed, hanging all the best-looking buds (still too young).
More tomorrow.
No more outdoor moving plants to indoor.
Learned the calendar is king and I am the jester.
Outdoor and indoor both need another month for best maturity.
Not happening, this year.
The next 2 weeks around here don’t look too bad, more of what we’ve been getting. Hoping mine are ready then, they are getting close! So far, no bugs and no bud rot, and the plants still look healthy!
I’m glad there are no holidays for us planned this year. Last September was the wedding in Sri Lanka, and 2022 was Rome in early November. At least that year I got my outdoor plats finished!
Thursday, I give away some clones and seeds (trip to Lynnwood).
Next week, we head East for the rest of the month.
Harvesting plants (immature, mostly), cleaning tent and yard.
Such is life, this side of the dirt.
I posted this on the “Bud-ROT=assistance” thread.
My day today,
[17m]
(Bud rot assistance - #35 by DEEPDIVERDAVE)
When I was younger, I practiced safe sex, sometimes.
Personal choices.
3-New Food grade 5gal-buckets
5-gal water times 4,
six bottles H2O2,
Above, Used wash water, smelled nice like weed.
Looked like Not drinkable bayou sludge water.
Below, pictured, and now they dry
All has been washed and inspected.
Trimmed of all leaf not showing trichomes.
Bud sugar leaves trimmed to flower pistil length.
Seeds still present in hanging buds.
And my newest “Dry
Rack”
Will it be worth it? No clue.
I am stuck, calendar dated harvest, not trichome selected for maturity.
Rain and cool temps.
Dry time and departure dates set.
I can understand not washing, but I had critters to kill.
I sprayed pure-crop 1 and I wash to practice the routine.
They are drying now.
Wax on, Wax-off, practitioner.
PNW Rot season beginning.
Tossed any rot plants, life is too short,
As said by
Lesson 420-Harvesting and Washing Weed.
DONE
Commercial weed selling and sales make more profit money if weed weighs more.
Bugs and dirt weigh, I would guess.
Disclaimer and TBT
Without the PNW rain (7inches in 10 days) last week, my weed would probably be dirtier and more bugs. Only found 3 ladybugs riding the weed.
1500 released last month (500 in tent and the rest outdoors).
Half of my yard still need harvest, but it’s not mature.
Question for anybody?
Do Seeds survive bud-rot?
or
Is bud-rot the maturity/release mechanism plants use?
IDK?
Follow on question, for anybody:
Fox tailing is the result of high intensity DLI, agreed.
Does the bulk and added new flower increase or decrease production of oil?.
I would imagine the seeds could be fine butI’d keep them seperate. When you germinate the seeds, you can use a few drops of h2o2 (which I always do). OR you can try soaking the seeds in a H2o2 solution for just a few minutes then dry the seeds very well. that’s just my opinion… the seeds have a hard outer shell
Dave I think foxtailing can be caused by stress. High DLI can be accommodated by plants if all other parameters are met or exceeded. Also genetics plays a major role. As far as adding anything the trichomes never appear to ripen on the foxtails as they continuously make new trichomes as they grow. Some genetically inspired foxtailing is the entire buds growing in foxtail form. I have some thats well cured and still really sticky from the masses of trichomes on it. As a rule after drying the foxtails are unceremoniously cut right off of the buds and they all end up in the hash pile. Don’t know if this helps , just my observations. Happy Growing
I would also dispose of anything thats been in contact with bud rot including the seeds, assuming the plant will provide others.
Asked the question, mostly for learning, “what if?”
Just thought about leaving the yard for a month, to mature, more.
The rot would be everywhere, I am sure (our rains arrived).
It pains me to chop and early is more painful.
@Lostgirl and @RightAway
Thanks for the reply and sharing.
I agree. Cannabis cultivation is a daily task. I would hate to leave more than 2 days much less a month. So many things can go wrong overnight and unattended can be devastated. I think my first sentence sums it up. Cultivating marijuana is a daily task
“House arrest” would be freedom, for me.
