Re vegging in late flowering

What to do if my plant is in late flowering and its showing signs of revenging

Pic of plant would help, determine what best action would be. This way can see exactly how far into reveg she is.

If this is indeed what you’re experiencing you have to decide whether you’re going to continue to let it go to veg or intervene. If you’re going to intervene then you need to determine the reason and address it.

Is this an outdoor plant? If so, daylight hours extending will put flowering plants back into veg. Indoor plants this is usually caused by faulty timer, improper timer settings, or light leaks not allowing minimum required hours of darkness.

Outdoor grows are tricky because flowering is triggered by the reduction in daylight time and when daylight time starts increasing can cause plants to go back into veg. Being close to the equator should regulate this some but my guess is that days start getting longer after the winter solstice.

If played right you could probably get 2 harvests per year growing outdoors but I think you would need to have the later harvest finished up by end of December to avoid this as a potential issue. Or try with auto flowering plants. You could maybe even get 3 harvests per year with them.

I am surprised they are flowering now. You are under 12 hours there now of daylight.

On the winter solstice, Hawaii receives around 11 hours of sunlight, while on the summer solstice, it receives approximately 13.5 hours , meaning the difference between the shortest and longest day in Hawaii is roughly 2.5 hours of daylight.

I thought the routine there was stick it outside to flower. Veg inside or supplemental at sunset. With this in mind could it be environmental besides light? Specifically are they potted or in the ground? If they are root bound they could be growing incorrectly. Although it’s usually the opposite, a veg plant starts auto flowering due to tight roots.

Did you recently give them a dose of fertilizer or some fresh rich compost? That may encourage a stretch? Did they get more sun or shade; like pruned landscape plants around it or moved slightly?

Or should I just harvest it and take a loss ?

@noddykitty1 there in pots and i just feed them on sunday and they are in only in 2ga pots there was in flower from early December and its march now so i dont know wats really going on cause i harvested like 10 plants and they all want into flowering in december so any knowledge would be appreciated :call_me_hand:t4::100:

I would just try to keep the conditions even and not change it up much in flower. They don’t look like a full reveg to me. Maybe a touch of foxtailing starting; basically a second round of flowering ontop of the old buds.

But they definitely aren’t finished yet so I would scratch the early harvest. Since you are under 12 hours of daylight just let the Sun work its magic.

I am sure others will weigh in.

They are about to go full reveg them single leaves coming from your colas is the Reveg and she pushing it. If you have a shed that is dark I would pick them up an move them in so they get 13 hours of dark until harvest to prevent reveg. Hopefully you can stop the reveg.

This is definitely back to veg. It doesn’t look out of control because it probably hasn’t been long since it reverted. In order to flower it will have to transition back to flower and then be light manipulated for an entire flowering period. If left outside I suspect it would run a normal veg and flowering cycle from here and be ready for harvest in the fall.

I believe these to be the only reasonable choices at this point as the current flowers aren’t ready to be harvested.

I would like to see a picture of the whole plant. With what I’m seeing right now I agree with @dbrn32

Quick last question. What light is in the shed? I remember one of your first post asking about lights to get. What did you go with? If you did not get a powerful light you may want to stick to the sun.

Admitting my bias to sun growing, I bet the Hawaiian Sun would shred most lights in the shed to shame. You are currently at 11:45 minuetes of daylight there. I would ditch the extra light in the shed and let the plant soak up the sun. It’s the extra light from the shed making them veg.

I have been spring growing in the sun for 19 springs here and the plants don’t reveg in the sun under 12 hours of daylight. Where I live as the days get longer we average 6 minutes more light each day. Where you live (2.5 hour differential between solstices) there is only one minute of addition light per day. So you will be on 12 hours or less sun for the next month and a half. I don’t find them to reveg under increasing sunlight here until we reach over 14 hours of sunlight, and that’s only some strains.

I would humbly use the sun unless you went for a top end light in the shed. Either way happy growing and mahalo. My whole family on my dad’s side lives on the big island. Love me some Hawaii Sun. :sun_with_face:
