Questions about FF trio

This is my second grow and I have enough of the FF trio for one more grow and of course I know there is some issues with FF but there is no way I can just toss what’s left. I plan on using a better soil set up next grow but for now this is what I have so my question is I’ve seen on here multiple people say to be using cal mag with the trio do I use it the entire time all the way till harvest and with and without nutrients when I feed I usually only feed every other watering any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated I’m about a week from switching to 12/12 thanks everyone

Directly from the fox farm website. Shake well before use. Mix 1 tsp (5 mL) per gallon (4 L) of water. Begin use just before bud development. Continue use as needed, not more than once per week. When i was following FF trio feeding schedule for week 2 of flowering was at 60% strength based off the feedinf schedule with Epsom salt, blackstrap molasses, cal mag, drip clean, and floranectar and getting about 1800-1875 ppm. I pushed nutes a bit hard back then but they took it willingly lol

Awesome I really appreciate it I had no issues with it on my first grow other than not reading the instructions very good lol so I had a salt back up which I corrected with there boomerang but I had posted some pictures and some of the great people on here kept mentioning needing cal mag so I got some and was wondering if I use it for the rest of the grow or just when needed and if it’s used in rest of grow do I use it even when I just use water with no nutrients

I wish i had more answers for you but unfortunately when i was using FF trio i also did not follow instructions. Never flushed the whole time, never did water only and feed on certain days, and fed cal mag all throughout the grow. I was in coco coir with perilite tho

Sweet that’s what I was wondering if I use it the whole time if there would be a problem that’s what I thought I read on others posts but I was just double checking I appreciate you getting back to me

No problem! Hope it all grows well lol

I feed at about 1/3 dose each watering and also use silica… my main nute is ff trio as well, till i finish the bottles.

Depends on your water. If RO or Distilled you will want to use calmag. Tap water usually covers you for calmag.

18 months and no issues with FF…what issues are you talking about?

Depends on your water again. I use it up untill the last two weeks of flower. I use RO water so at both water and feed days.

I’ve only had one issue and it was completely self inflicted I didn’t read all of the instructions and I needed to do a flush so I got there sledgehammer and also some boomerang and fixed my problem I was just referring to a lot of people on here have had issues with FF and seems like not a very big fan of it really I was wanting to get around that and find out about the cal mag lol also I just use tap water and ph it down to around 6.6 area. do you use epsom salt with the fox farms? This is my second grow and just want to do better this time

No on the epsom. I used it to bring my water into ph stability a couple times when I was trying to restrict nitrogen. Calmag has nitrogen in it, so I used epsom. Now, id use unsulphered molasess instead.

True that! I love FF!

Each one gets better and better!
Ive never used sledgehammer thought it seemed unecessary.

I’ve had no issues with ff it’s actually the first product I used and seen amazing results and I was having some problems and posted for some help and some of the great people on here recommended to flush and the sledgehammer was a good product to use so I got some and it worked I’m actually wanting to get there open sesame beastie bloom and cha Ching is that stuff worth getting

Yeah Ive been happy with the solubles. Usually use it at half strength tho. They will last you! If you add anything you should look into real growers recharge or some kind of Mycorhyzae product. Im on my 2nd grow using them (great white brand) super happy with results. The amount of roots that come from using them is astounding!

You using OF for soil?

Not yet my next grow I will be using OF I pulled a newbie mistake and used some miracle grow potting soil that I had from my first grow I just wanted to use it up and not waste it but plan on using a better soil next time is that what you recommend

Here is the schedule they publish. CalMag stops in late flower:

Gotta grow to know sometimes.

Im pretty fond of it. Many opt for starting their seedings in Happy Frog. It has a bit less nitrogen in it, youll likely see the phrase “less hot” attached to it. I have been using OF to start seeds since the get go of my growing adventure. I cut OF with 25% perlite and have great sucess that way. In my last two grows, I have been doing a combo of Strawberry Fields, which is heavy in P&K light on N) in the bottom 1/3 of my pot and Ocean Forest (Heavy N low P&K) on the top 2/3. When I mix soil I do 3 scoops soil and 1 scoop perlite. (This works for autos but wouldnt work as well for photo’s, I dont think)

Its true, the only exception is if using distilled or RO water. Calmag makes low tds water PH stable. Common practice of witholding nutes in last two weeks eliminates the need for it at about the same time as schedule cuts it off.

May i ask about the schedule posted?

As new grower, what made you post that schedule? Why not the soil chart from Cultivation nation?

I thought the question was regarding the classic FF Trio. If I was incorrect, please ignore.

No no, im new

They have two trios i think. That pamplet is confusing for old timers learning to familarize alo of nutes.

The schedule posted, green, orange, and purple.

All three gets fed, or do you select one of those colors for your likings?
