My first grow and I started with 2 white widows. Plants are doing well inside grow tent. My question is how long do I leave in this stage with 24hour light? 30/45 days?
You can leave them go as long or as little as you like, depending on the size of your grow space or any time constraints you have. For your average, non Sea of Green grow, people tend to let plants veg 6-10 weeks. That’s an average. You can go to bloom straight from germ, or you can veg indefinitely.
Oh, and 24 hours of light is unnecessary. They do their best growth in the dark. 20/4 to as low as 18/6 is good. Some people do 16/8.
I’m pretty new as well and my 2x2x4 tent is small only a 1 plant tent. I decided at week 5 to flip to 12 / 12/ light because people are saying the plant will go into a flowering stretch and the plant will double in size. So keep all that in mind when sizing up your grow space and try to judge it for yourself. Good luck!
Wow great tip, thank you! I’m also using a small 24x24x56 tent and now I hope there’s enough room for the 2 plants!
2x2 comfortably holds one plant. Having said that, I’ve always overstuffed my grows - I currently have six in a 4x2.5’ space in a scrog net.
My recommendation is to be on top of trimming fan leaves when needed - if the leaves are overcrowding each other, shading bud sites, and/or preventing good airflow amongst the plants - consider a trim to free up some space.
I also take off the lower branches to focus energy at the top - it’s called lollipopping. Last, if you are up for it, consider a scrog, which is a net with 2"x2" or 3x3" squares that are used to space out the bud sites so they dont overcrowd each other and maximize the light across the canopy. Good luck.
I went 9 weeks after sprouting and I think I waited a little too long (Gorilla Glue and Chocolope). I have 4 plants in a 4’x4’ space and the canopy is already touching sides of tent.
Also consider your final pot size and plan to transplant into it just before you switch to flower. I waited too long to transplant…they grew so fast at that stage they kind of got away from me!
My humidity has been very high and I decided to add a exhaust fan to suck out heat so far it looks like it’s making it 15-20 degrees colder now. I’m wondering if I should put the fan on a timer for a few hours durning the day instead of all the time?
I’m lucky in that I have a couple of leftover Honeywell/Ranco temperature controllers and use them to control stuff like that. They aren’t super expensive but not cheap either. This is the one I use, note that you can get them way cheaper but they do not have the power cables. You plug the controller into the wall and the plug the fan into the controller. They can be set for heating or cooling. The Honeywells are cheaper.
I am a first time grower and I think I went way past the norm to ummm 14 and 15 weeks. However I lst’d them and they stayed below 24" and I was able to get a nice flat canopy for equal coverage of bud sites when I went into flower finally a week ago. And man what a difference a week makes. One of my auto’s grew 13".
Right B4 flip 12/12.I hooked up a timer on the exhaust to run 5am-8am I’ll see how that works for now.
My humidity is still sky high. I’m hoping with the change to 20 on 4 off will drop humidity levels. As I understand high humidity is okay now but not durning flowering stage.
Everyone I over stuff well vented or not I get mildew
