Well I have been babying these 4 plants since July 10th. and they are in the final Vegetative state now. They are in a 4 X 6 box 8 ft. tall and are in 10 gal. tubs. I have been topping and trimming them since they have been very small trying to get them horizontal so there height has been very restricted by me with plans of getting them to 18 in. then switching to 12/12 lighting. They have now almost reached that height I am projecting their final height of 30-36 in. height and my question is this has been 4 months so is this to long a time length for a efficient personnel grow.
My question is, the flowering time length will be 10 weeks I am thinking total time length for this first grow will be about 6 months does this seem to long to be efficient? …Thanks…PS…3 of 4 plants are looking very healthy and basically covering the 4 X 6 floor area with strong heavy growth…
You can veg as long as you want really. The bigger the plant the bigger the harvest. Just remember them things will take off their first few weeks in flower.
Edit:and by take off I mean grow way more. If you’re running out of room as it is you’re going to be struggling. The first few weeks of flower is called the stretch period and they will increase in size by 20 to 40 percent. I’ve heard of more growth but never personally experienced it
As @ARGrower notes, you can veg for a long time to try to get a many bud sites as possible. Outdoors, I had my plants in veg for probably 2.5 months and they were massive.
From an opinion standpoint, yes, I think 4 months is too long of a vegetative state. My humble opinion of one, from the time a seed pokes its hea out of the ground, six weeks of vegetation is adequate. You can go even shorter with clones.
Let’s just say I planted my plants the 24 of July, 2 weeks after yours and I’m harvesting in less than 2 weeks
but then again you will have a much bigger yield
Ok it looks like this was a protracted length of time. The only thing of concern was these plants vertacal growth appeared very slow when I compared them to photos of other growers. This variety (Green Crack) has a very short inter node spacing through its early stage of growth and very heavy growth of late very Indica in appearance. …
Ok I just did some minor triming on my plants to open the canopy some. I am planning to start the 12/12 lighting as 20 percent of the plants are at 18in. Does anyone see a issue to starting this after doing some triming?
Can you share a few photos, please?
Have tried to upload pics but it keeps telling me the file is to big. I have resized it again These pic was taken a couple of days ago prior to triming.

These are 4 plants in 10 gal tubs. They are 18 tall and they grew since I took these pics a couple of days ago I also trimd mainly under growth. Is there any reason after triming that I should not put them on to flower 12/12. …2 600 watt LEDs and 4 Florescent side mounted…
