Question about LST - Removing large fan leaves?

Folks here suggest LST, so I have had a go. Does what I’ve done look ok-ish? Better suggestions heartily welcome. Aside from bending the main stem down, I’ve only really just tucked some of the largest fan leaves down under smaller leaves. Would anyone recommend actual defoliation? I suppose must be HST.

The plants are so squat and bushy that I find it hard to do more than bend main cola down. Some folks here suggested moving my light further away and encouraging them to stretch a bit before LST, and that sounded like great advice. But I’ve gone ahead a little earlier because l think I have noticed signs that the plants are already entering pre-flower stage?

If its an auto I wouldnt remove any fan leaves right now pruning in autos should be done very sparingly and selectively

Ive trimmed this one a bit in the center to allow proper air flow so it wouldn develop mold or bud rot but this one is very tight and compact if its a photo period you can definitely trim it but its still small i wouldn’t remove anything not directly hindering you
