Question about drying with low humidity in lungroom

Hi growmies :call_me_hand: I have a question about the way i get my humidity up for drying.

In my lung room its 33% rh. And i use a 2 foot by 2 foot (60cm x 60cm) tent for drying. At the top of my tent i have a 150mm exhaust. And at the floor i keep the tent open a little bit with an oscillating fan blowing inside the tent. I then have a humidifier standing right outside the tent, and it is connected to a sensor inside the tent, down on the floor, that is set to 61% rh.
So when the humidity is 61% down on the floor inside the tent, then the humidifier turns off. And then the humidifier turns on again when the RH inside the tent is 51%

I try to keep the temperature inside the tent to 60 degrees (15 celsius) but it goes from 57 degrees (14 celsius) to 63 degress (17 celsius)

Do you guys think that its okay what im doing? Im just concerned about all the water vapor thats getting sucked right into the tent

I wouldn’t be overly concerned Growmie, my drying conditions range from 60-70 degrees and 55-65% RH. I consider those a comfortable range for drying in my lung room :love_you_gesture:

Its not so much my temperature im worried about. Its the humidity :face_with_diagonal_mouth: if i could get my lung room to the humidity as yours i wouldn’t be worried either.
I use an A/C unit to heat up my house now in winther time. So first i tried to close the door to my lungroom. But then it was getting to cold in my lungroom for my 5 foot by 5foot (150cm x 150cm) grow tent :slightly_smiling_face: and that is also why i dont want the humidity up that high in all my lungroom because of the rest of the plants that is still in flower.

So the humidifier is right next to the opening of the drying tent, so all the water vapor is getting sucked into the drying tent.

Turn your exhaust fan off if it doesn’t affect the temps. Leaving the door slightly opened likes you mentioned and a light breeze from a circulating fan inside the tent should work :love_you_gesture:

Why should i turn the exhaust fan off?

I think i will get a smelly problem if i do that😃

You’re going to have the smell regardless, just trying to offer some suggestions. My lung room hits 65% RH during flowering occasionally when I’m also trying to dry in a spare tent :love_you_gesture:

I’ve also soaked a large bath towel and laid in on the tent floor to raise the humidity in the dry space. I struggle getting RH above 40% in the winters and never run a humidifier for drying :love_you_gesture:

What about that hay smell, don’t you get that with such low RH?

You’ll get some hay smell regardless of the temps and RH. A nice slow dry under desirable conditions is preferred but there’s ways to get there. Are your plants hanging at the moment? If not do a few mock up runs. Tent opened, tent closed, fan on or off. When you’re not growing in a controlled environment these are the test and experiments you have to do. I’ve been growing indoors now for 4 years and in an unconditioned garage room, I’m constantly tuning my AC, heater, dehumidifier, humidifiers to what ever the conditions are for each season :love_you_gesture:

Sounds like what i have been doing through all this grow:smiley: it was one of the reasons i wanted to try an indoor grow. I couldn’t control the inviroment outside. So i went inside. But maybe i went abit anal with everything  trying to go after a VPD scale. And the weather is changing outside, so its open and close windows

Now im so close to finish, i dont want to fuck up the drying. But yes 2 plants are already hanging and 4 more to go🤙

I was playing around with the drying tent for 1 day. And then i harvested the 2 plants yesterday
