Hmm, that’s not what I see at all. @Mark0427 or @Borderryan22 any thoughts? It looks hungry to me, not overfed.
PS, somehow started my day out of likes! Have a like -

I thought nute burn because this happened apx 10 hours after a feeding - also saw some tips turning brown although very open to others opinions. Thanks!
The yellowing at the bottom looks more like natural dying of the leaves. The further into flowering you get, the more the plant focuses on flower production. More than likely nitrogen deficiency. At 4-5 weeks of flower, if they aren’t directly attached to the bud, the brighter yellow ones can go. If the flower areas are nice and green, you should be ok. Maybe give a shot of calmag with watering. Just don’t go crazy and get every bit of yellow. I did that and fast tracked the dying of other leaves.
Thanks for the tag @Graysin
Also… The further you get, the tips of the leaves will burn a little. As long as it is a slow progression, and they aren’t just frying and dying, not a big deal. Damaged leaves won’t repair or heal.
Interesting - I always thought I should avoid foliating Autos as they are so sensitive. Did it with large fan leaves but avoided doing it often. But you are saying as they are at the bottom, it should be OK. Have been adding low levels of CalMag to watering, will continue and clean the yellow leaves up some. Thanks!!
“defoliating”
The very bottom shouldn’t hurt if it is only a few leaves. All the flowers have been fine on mine. She had huge 9" fan leaves and when I took those, the smaller ones yellowed. I’ve just been taking them when they look like over ripe banana peels. Let’s see what @oldmarine says, he is a defol master. I know it’s an auto, and not his forte, but he’s good at determining old leaves from nute burn or lock
Did you do any lst or did u just let them grow ,cause if u done lst they would of gotten bigger and gotten more bud sites ,i done a auto in coco coir and done alot of lst and mine turned out big and bushy
They do look good dont be unhappy with ur self maybe just do more training with ur plants next time
I did, but not enough unfortunately. They felt so small that I didnt want to stress them too much… I will definitely do so in my next Auto grow!
After all the bud sites have formed on it usually 3rd or 4th week area of flower 3rd usually I can lollipop and defol autos no problem. Don’t go mad nuts stealing all the leaves. If they r tuckable tuck them if not off with its head. I’ll get best buds if u lollipop the plant which is taking the bottom third of the plant and all the small inner buds in middle of plant that won’t see light so well out of the equation will let the plant focus on what u want to be good @Nicky @Not2SureYet would be the auto fellas to talk with on them good luck.
I’d do next water or feed and get run off numbers also as there is something not major going on. There is a touch of nute burn on tips but nothing bad. As long as it is not a progressive issue that will be fine. The yellowing should not happen that fast after a water something is making me think issue. @Covertgrower @PurpNGold74 @MidwestGuy @BobbyDigital
Exactly. PK booster shot time
PK Booster it is!
I didn’t see the nute burn so much as the yellow. Since you mixed soil with coco. I would have no idea where to start. other than to just chop off those leaves so you don’t have to look at them any more. You really don’t need them after week 3 of flower as long as you have lots of sugar leaves. That has been my findings
OK - I trimmed them down a bit - tucked in what I could and defoliated - scary shit - didnt want to stress it too much! Will water tomorrow and check the overrun.
What worried me is that the yellow came so quick after the last feeding.
Hmm - I have been although went light on it due to the soil mix.
&
Actually - thats what worried me as the yellow leaves came apx 10 hours after the feeding. Cleaned it up, will check PPM of the overran and try again… Thanks!
Losing lower leaves is very common. I would have no problem removing them. I actually remove all the growth in the lower 3rd of the plant pre-flower. Opens up the interior of the plant and removes growth that will never amount to much.
I never had a large auto however, I don’t do autos simply because I like more control over my grow. Photos aren’t much different and there are more advantages. I grow short plants to make it easier to inspect the bud. None of my autos did better than a couple or three ozs.
These White Widow reveg clones are doing nicely in their fourthish week.
I probably defoliate every week all the way to harvest.
Beautiful plant man -
Yes, agree with everything you said - my main fear was defoliating Autos as I thought they were too sensitive. Also cleaned them up and will continue to until harvest - they wont grow anymore but at least more light will get through…
Thanks!!
Let me dispel that myth right now
You can top an auto as long as it’s within the first week or two (and on between 4th and 6th node is preferable). You can FIM an auto as long as it’s between the 4th and 6th node. You can LST an auto six ways to Sunday. You can transplant a seedling auto into a larger pot but I don’t recommend it and suggest only one transplant if you must. You can remove fan leaves with reckless abandon, especially once she starts flowering, because she ain’t gonna have energy going anywhere but flower production and stretching up if she happens to be one of those strains.
I managed to obliterate my auto’s root structure, transplant it into soil (from hydro) while it was mid-flower, and it’s still alive. Stunted beyond belief, but alive. I think if you don’t abuse the bejeesus out of them, they’re actually very resilient.
