Hello everyone, old school grower trying my hand at Autoflower in a closet, the powers that be granted us legal grow of 4 plants. Here is what i have planned.
Space- 2 ft x 2ft x 4 feet tall mylar wrapped closet
Cloth planter bags 3 gallon
Soil- fox farm Frogg or Ocean
Seeds- growerschoice White Widow and Critical Purple both Autos.
Light- FRGDGL-0006 1000W Led Grow Light Full Spectrum Double Switch for Indoor Plants Veg & Bloom ×2 ~ I used 1 for a photo and it did okay, small yield it out grew the space so i tossed it into bud. i can daisy chain these if needed and plan on doing 2 Auto plants for a starter run.
Air- just a small fan to keep circulation
Nutes- I have Foxfarm veg and flower nutes but from what i am reading not really nessisary till last stages if its lacking. Rather not use at all if possible hah!
The lights can run both settings at once and plan on doing 16/8 cycle on a timer. I think my ducks are in a row, i spent most of today reading through various threads here on ILGM about autoflower. Still waiting on all the stuff I ordered to show up.
The wife is the one that partakes I just enjoy growing and the cush mintz photo i just finished curing she said turned out amazing for a small harvest.
I hope to keep a cycle of 1 to 2 plants maturing as 1 or 2 babies go in pending on space, from what i read for a room my size 2 or 3 plants would be optimum.
Sounds like a decent setup so far what brand are the lights i only ask cause lightning is 1 thing to not skimp on when building a set up gopd quality lighting can male a big difference on flower quality and yield as well also any specific reason your going to run them on a 16/8 cycle and not a 18/6 cycle?
I dont even see what the wattage pull is on these unfortunately personally id recommend better lighting to be completely honest if yoir able to swing the funds of course ohh and the red and purple lights is what i refer to as blurple lights they are a thing of the past they arent efficient the diodes are old and outdated and they dont provide the correct spectrum of light and please dont take this as me trying to bash the products you’ve purchased i just want your experience to be good as ive seen new growers investment money and become discouraged because there harvest wasn’t lackluster
Thanks, we are thinking your spot on about the lights, that would explain why the last plant was lacking in density and the lower buds being so fluffy.
Hey growbro I wish you all the luck you can check out my first indoor grow in the closet for all the pains I am going through and challenges I am having. What a fantastic learning experience it has been and she’s not done yet. I will stay tuned to see how you do.
The HLG Patriot is 150 watts. It’s $179 before discounts. You can get 10% off by signing up for their mailing list. Someone on here may know a discount code to save you even more. HLG is top notch lighting. It would be hard to find anything better for a 2x2.
Dude i would highly recommend a hlg 150w patriot or the new hlg 200 Diablo. You won’t regret it and will never have to upgrade… just my opinion but i have 2 hlg 350R’s and a 200 Diablo… the proof is in the pudding… and btw i only have to run them on 70%-ish
I second the hlg 350r. That’s what I use in a 2x4. It does a hell of a job, and you don’t even have to run it at full power all the time. My last auto. Got 6 dry ounces.
Most of the autos I have grown take that much space per plant. Also my planters are about 10" and lights take about 10" off the top, that only allows 28" for the plant height. I have had many that were taller than that.
This grow area is approx. 32x48x62. There are 4 actual plants here(one is a long, single stalk, single bud hiding behind the center one). I am running 2 T-1000 lights (150w each)
That is my goal also. This is same grow as above but earlier so you can see the age difference better. You can see the single stalk one better here also.
Plants are not in the same position in both photos
Just be mindful of your pot size. Normally the bigger the gallon the taller it is so i would recommend no more than a 3g. Poor the light to them so the nodes will be tight and low profile. Just my opinion but I’ve been where you’re at so best of luck to you
I just wanted to mention that when I was out watering my outside garden at daybreak and inside tent crawling around I love it. I look back it wasn’t as much fun when i was a wee bit of a boy kind of disliked it if i remember .
