When I started the Girl Scout cookie and the Gorilla glue I put the seeds in small medicine cups with water. Then I put them in a butter tub I taped up with duct tape to keep the light out. Then I place the butter tub on a seating mat where it could get plenty of regulated Heat. Then I place some bubble wrap on top of that for insulation. When I started we were in the middle of an ice storm and the next two days the temperature didn’t get out of the teens. Girl Scout cookie had a tail in one day.The GG Had a tail in two days. I planted each in their own butter tub with lots of holes poked in the side and bottom. And put them in the grow box immediately with the main grow light on. The Girl Scout never sprouted. What the GG pop the soil the next day. It’s been a health plant putting on lots of leaves and even branching.
But I may have growing the world’s smallest plant as it looks like it’s not going to flower that just 4" tall. LOL it’s been just 15 days.
Ozark, if the plant pictured is 14 days old you are way ahead of the game…mine is 1.5 weeks and looks like a typical tiny seedling. Only second set of leaves barely showing , quite pale looking and skinny as hell.! soil temp is 71.5 degrees. Room temp. 71-72 F. light at 24" @ 60 % power.
Hey @PurpNGold74 Was wondering watt You thought about my Bestva1000 at 24" 50% power ? I think it has about the same output as a SF1000.
I didn’t understand your light set up. You said yours was100w . Is that total power for flourecent 6 tube?
Thank you, it is just two weeks old. In fact the picture of it in the grow cabinet was taken on the 12th. The other two pictures were taken on the 20th.
You can see the light I use it is 132 w full spectrum LED. With fan no dimmer. It has two side lamps but I haven’t used yet it has a high and low setting on both those. That’s for when the plant gets bigger it helps get the light to the lower leaves. I guess this is my first time using it.
A lso I’ve been a Rancher and farmer most all of my life. (read my bio) I don’t use testers I just go by what it look like. And I always grow organic mostly just using just bone meal and blood meal. Occasionally something else depending what the leaves look like. Superthrive is also considered organic, just concentrated. And until the plant gets a couple leaves I personally use a squirt bottle but I don’t Mist the plant. I set the spray so it lightly saturates the soil without disturbing it yes you have to stand there a little bit to get enough out of the bottle but it’s better than moving the soil around by pouring in water. And I only water about every 3 days. And like I’ve been saying it’s very important to have many holes around your plastic cup or tub. I drilled a couple dozen eighth inch holes around those butter tubs. As it turns out the butter tub was too big for Autos but this was my first time growing them. I’ve always done photo outside. Butter tubs always seem to be the right size to plant in the soil. Except trees or evergreens.
Although I’ve had success just putting seeds in nicely tilled prepared ground soil.
I’m getting a kick out of constantly looking at it every few hours to watch it grow, but I don’t fiddle with it. As far as your plant goes I believe I read you purchased it from a place I purchased some photos once, and they had very poor genetics. I’m not knocking what other people do. Everyone does things differently to some extent.
Good luck.
Back to work!
ozark…Hey can you or have you told me already what type of light ? Brand /model that would help big time …TY
Hey @Graysin , I seem to have lost my moderator…Mr. @PurpNGold74 …I wish I could do pics…but that’s not poss. So up date … I don’t know how to bring those questions in blue box down to here that I was asking @PurpNGold74 about light intensity in posts above have you any input for me ? I feel like I’m not doing something incorrectly here…;<
jeeze I edited correctly…incorrectly!! LOL…oh boy…
Huh!!..I’m just in awe Dude at those 30 dayish plants zark…you da man!
Half the time it doesn’t come up with your name when I address you. And my pictures didn’t work the other day, but the next day everything was okay again. Likely my fault I’m old and technologically challenged. So when you asked me about wattage before it’s in the other reply.
The light is a intertek 132 Watt full Spectrum. It has another sticker on it that says Mars Hydro grow but I think that’s just the name of the cabinet put on the light. LOL Not sure it could do an area much bigger then the cabinet. 12d x18w x 48h
If you want to talk to purple and gold go up to any of his remarks doesn’t matter it should come up with his name in the upper left next to an arrow. I think what I’m doing wrong and possibly you is at the bottom of the page if you punched the arrow it doesn’t flag anybody you just posting a comment but it doesn’t get attention. Don’t know don’t do much social media and never any form.
Are your plants tall and stretchy? Or?
I use a bunch of different lights. My current joy cheapo light is Green Beams (green-beams(dot)com I think). $170 for 240w of pretty good quality. Samsung 301B diodes instead of 301H (the latest and greatest) but that’s the only “disadvantage.” They’re substantially similar. GB lights are supposed to mimic the Horticulture Lighting Group lights (300L and 600 Rspec) for cheap.
@Ozark Yeah 80% of the time I post a reply to purpngold it doesn’t do the arrow thingy. I have only tried the general reply at very bottom of page like twice. But same as you 80% of time it just won’t give me the arrow thing. Don’t understand either unless purp has gone silent /blocked me on his end??
Sorry man. I tend to take the weekends off for family and usually pop my head in a few times but I had all kindsa stuff going on this time.
Im back and thanks @Graysin For keeping Love from jumping off a cliff HAHA.
The build is a 6 Bridgelux strip build. They are electric taped to aluminum. And powerd by a 100w total driver.
And I have your thread set to watch. Every message sends me an email. I tend to want to keep an eye where Im helping out. So no worries if you think I didnt get it. Ill be around lol. Again my bad about the delay. Just be wary weekends I maynot see the bat signal
Hey TY @PurpNGold74 Glad you’re still here! not that anyone else can’t help just thought I did something wrong., Which is probable!LOL. Any how, I backed off the watering and they are firming up so to speak . My 3rd seed came up outta soil and is very tall. worry about her latter as she grows, but my 4th sed had been in P.towel for ten days only just cracked so put in a Solo cup. I already feel more confident with moisture maint. in the solo …we’ll see if she pops up though. Thanks again for co-piloting!I’ve turned the lights up to 75% the first 2 girls are trying to put on 3rd set of true leaves Finally! still at 24" oh height.on my Bestva 1000 . I really need to get a smart phone…LOL At least I could use that lighting app for intensity or umols thingy.
I see he responded. I was going to say he sounds like a dedicated individual with a Family Life, and a full-time job. That and I don’t believe monitors get paid. They just donate their time much like a hobby.
And I have seen nothing that would cause someone to want to ban you. You’re curious, confused, and wanting to learn. No harm in that, that’s what this site’s about.
You just happened to catch me soon as I decided to take a break from the 16 ft long car siding I’ve been putting up in the den. (By myself) It’s not heavy but it’s flexible and tongue and groove. It really needs three people to line it up. But I figured out a way the hold it up there and not leave any traces since all the nailing is blind nailing. Trouble is I have a lot of arthritis in my neck and shoulders so I can only do about 2 pieces at a time. At my age climbing the ladders and working on the scaffold 12 ft up is scary! Lol Maybe by the end of the week the ceiling will finally be done. Yay!
Best way to be! And ud be correct with a few of those assumptions. 5 rugrats (one is 2 months old). Full time at a state agency (overworked underpaid) haha.
But growing weed and helping others grow is my passion. Thorough enjoy watching the growth of the growers around here. Its very fulfilling
