I think I read somewhere that the (Umol) should be @250-300 for seedlings.

I don’t think having your light on full will hurt at all. I’ve had mine blasting 100% since the beginning. If I was you I would gently poke holes in the side of your Solo Cup trying not to disturb the soil. This will allow some are to help dry it out. I just went three days without water in mine and gave her just a little bit today. I hope my grow bags come next Monday or Tuesday I’m needing the transplant like today. I think she’s 11 days old now. She’s just starting to stretch and the first five finger leaves are starting to emerge. It’s odd already developing two branches.

I’m growing in a hydroponic grow box that I bought a few years back but only Now using it for the first time and growing with soil. Lol it’s just big enough for one large plant or two smaller ones my mind it has to be really small. LOL since its only a foot deep and 24 in wide. Also it was it can’t get much higher than 3 1/2 ft. I looked in the light says 132 Watts. It’s full spectrum LED with a fan. The box also has 1 intake fan into exhaust. Which it would need need since the Box gets quite hot from the light. But I just been leaving the door open a crack since the room is cool. This morning it was 16 degrees outside. So before it’s done I’ll likely be running the fans. Oh yeah the height of the light above the plant right now is at 20 in when the cloth type grobag comes next week hopefully Monday or Tuesday I’ll transplant immediately that would lower it about 6 in from the light until of course the plant grows bigger. Despite being in ranching and farming all my life I didn’t know about cloth grow bags. Didn’t have a need to know until now. Researching it seems like they are the way to go since the roots will be much healthier and that’s the foundation for your whole plant. They’re cheap on eBay 3 gallon bags average $2. And they can be used many years. Besides allowing water to drain everywhere It seems the air through the side of the bag prunes the root by killing the tip. this keeps the root from circling around and instead it puts out lateral roots and gains Mass. And that makes sense I’m always are right in my soil around the garden,blueberries, and grapes. I’ll try sending a picture of the grow box I tried to send earlier but it wouldn’t download.

No. Don’t. Take that spray bottle idea and throw it out the window. Spray bottles are for pest treatments or foliar feeding. Not watering.

Im running a 6 strip 100w build I made myself. Its always 100% (no dimmer) and starts out about 2 ft away

My light is an LED. only 105w at the wall actual power draw so, I think it would be over 100 watts so to speak…I know watts don’t mean s@it so with out a light meter I’ll never Really know… all I do know is my Light manual says 26-30" at 50 -60 %%% power with the dimmer. AND I’m at 24"…I will tell ya’ll that since I turned the light down from 70% to 55% they have darkened up a tad and are looking a bit better.
and the question is… what percent increases in “watts” to led performance?..10-15%?20% anybody ?

someone must know by now how many ounces of water to give thru out the seedling stage with fox farm frog…using classic temp/humid standards. covered/uncovered solo . …I’m way to noob to know this …but surely somewhere some one must have some specific science. Ohhh darn…I’ve got a headache again !!LOL But really …this should be studied RT. ?

My science nerd crap ADD is killing me …For sure nothing is set in stone , but how cool would it be to know by way of a chart. FoxF. is pretty standard medium for the most part and it has some challenging water retention properties IMO. Let the soil humidity /growth rate challenge begin!! Nope. Sadly not. Every single plant is different. It will consume more water or less. More than that, the RH of your room will change the evaporation rate in addition to the plant’s general thirst
The way I water is “a bunch” til it runs out the bottom of the solo cup and then leave it alone til the soil is totally dry. Then it’s a literal rinse and repeat. Cannabis is a wet/dry cycle plant. It’s one of those things where you have to learn how much your fully-saturated soil weighs versus your dry (or mostly dry) soil weighs so you can feel (literally) when it’s time to water again.

@Graysin TY man for your input. A lot of people in this thread keep saying info on solo cup germ. , but I’m repeatedly in a 3gl. plastic pot , from germ. That’s why I’m having problems I think with my BABIES.
I guess I’ll try yall’s advise (auto in a solo cup) for germ. with the last seed which really I should just trash,It’s been in paper towel for ohhhh…calender pls. ;> 10 days and just cracked… but all my above posts/concerns seem to be due to Germinating in a 3 gal. nightmare.

Yeah, there are advantages and disadvantages to starting in large containers. Biggest disadvantage is that it takes the roots forever to fill up all the space, so it feels like you’re twiddling your thumbs for an approximate eternity waiting for her to finish growing down before she starts growing up.
If it’s not rotting, you’re just fine. I’ve had seeds floating on water for 3-5 days before they finally bothered to sprout a tiny tail. Sometimes the shell is just a monster.

This is the answer. If you’re worried they’re too young, use a humidifier to keep the RH really high or use a clear solo cup or glass as a dome over the seedling to keep her moist.
