Hey guys…update 6. Girls are 42 days old. 7 days into flower. Been a nightmare trying to keep a even canopy. All are stretching differently. Of course. Numbers are all good. Ppf is 850 to 950 over center of each plant.
Update 7- hey guys…the girls are now 49 days old and 14 days into flower (from flip). The girls are close to having buttons and stretching HARD! One of the girls stretched so hard and had to supercrop the sh!t out of her. Usually dont do it at this point of flower but trying to slow her down. On the other side of it, also my runt is stretching slower then molasses. She is boosted 12" off floor to help keep lighting even as possible. Stubborn grow this run but they all look fantastic. My runoff tds has rised quite a bit lately. Currently feeding at 1200 tds and runoff is between 1650 to 2000 depending on plant. Id rather my ec be no higher the 3.2 but so far they are loving it. Ppfd at center of each plant’s canopy, is from 850-1050 depending on lady. Temps been from 71 to 78 low to high, rh is from 55 to 60%. Here they are and again, any input, or criticism is welcome.
Another thing i wanna add. Ive had to defoliate way more then normal. Literally been plucking some every day, still cant keep up. I know it looks like i need to defoliate more, but i need to give them a break after all the stress i gave them the last week. After day 21, ill hit them again.
Here is the color of the leafs in normal light. They look little heavy on the nitrogen but they are not waxy, zero painted nails (burn tips), no claw. So im going to keep it full steam ahead
That looks like a happy, healthy tent full! If the TDS thing is bugging you, I have started using the ratio of 4 grams part A, 2 grams part B, no epsom salt, and Tribus 1ml per gallon. I know very little about this hobby, but others were using that ratio so I have tried it since my tent was at the same time frame you are at now. I am at day 45 of flower and everything looks awesome still, I always get some slight tip burn but it works. Probably knocked the tds down 100 ppm. I was feeding at about 2.0EC and now it’s 1.7-1.8EC.
Its not bugging me but has me on alert better said. Im familiar with the 4/2 method. Im doing for flower, 3.8a, 2.5b, 1.3 epsom with mild strength aror si silica at 1/4 tsp per gallon and bud candy at 4 ml. Sundays i do a 1/3 strength feed with recharge and fulvic acid powder at .8 grams per gallon. If it does go higher, ill flush with full strength feed untill the in matches the out…lol.
Your feed is with ro im assuming? Mine with tap at about 160 tds. Whats your runoff tds avg?
I’m on a pretty new well, my EC coming out of the faucet is usually just under .2 so about 100 ppms. Just high enough I can set the PH on water only if I need to flush. I got really lucky with that.
How is your runoff? Avg tds?
I keep my run off high enough like 20-30% I haven’t needed to check the EC on it, so I haven’t done it with this feed mix. I guess I’m just lazy, it would be good to know what those numbers are even if only to have an idea of where it should be if I did develop problems. The few times I had checked it on previous grows it was only higher than yours is now one time. I just flushed that plant with water until the ph was close to 5.8 and then fed full strength immediately. I am only on my fourth grow, so that might not be the best method!
P.S. Your tent looks so healthy I probably wouldn’t change anything.
Ya your really not supposed to worry about ph out, as long as your in is on point. But the tds out you should keep a eye on. I get a good 20% runoff too, but it has been creeping slowly. I really would not flush coco with plain water as i would worry about the cation exchange rate getting messed up
Hry guys, update number 8. The girls are now 56 days old, and 21 days into flower. Tonight they got another defol and last dose of recharge. All has been good, but i am out of height and lst’ing the sh!t out of them. They got supercropped a lot but i just dont have any more space to move them to lol. Stretch is about over now so i will be ok i just need to keep my ppfd in the 850 to 900 range. Last grow i ran out of room too and my biggest suffered a bit from light burn so im trying to control that now. Alot of people run in the 50 plus dli or over 1050 ppfd, but imo that is simply to much and a waste of energy. I think they are right on point for 3 weeks into flower. Hopefully they will fill in great. I also monstercropped two clones off my best plant, a great pheno that after this run will do one monster scrogged plant, and the other a mother plant, just tired of struggling with from seed plants and vastly different characteristics. Will be alot easier going forward with clones. Here they are
Wall to wall bud! Looking great and nice plan on keeping that strain going. Kick myself occasionally for not keeping a few cuttings on some great single plant strains I’ve had
Thank you sir! The budding part is just starting to really pick up. Its going to be impressive in just 2 more weeks, hoping for jaw dropping in 6!
Looking very nice in there! I think you are right about the DLI thing, if you can get to 45 DLI that should be sufficient, unless you are trying to add co2.
Right…some guys just think u need up to 1200. No way. Like i said b4 i had light burn at 1050 ppfd BUT was also in the summer struggling to manage heat. Max dli for me is 43 at 1000 ppfd for 12 hrs.
Ok guys, update number 9. The ladys are now 63 days old, and 28 days from flip. All is well with the ladys, my only minor issue is my media ec has been riding at 4.0 or 2000tds to 1500 depending on which lady. This is part to the auto watering system and them not getting perfectly even runoff. They have been getting fed at 1100 to 1150 tds with jacks at 3.8a, 2.3b, 1.2 of epsom with silica and budcandy. Tomorrow i will flush them down to my normal in feed numbers with half strength jacks to keep them in check. Probably could just let em run with it, but i do not wanna risk any issues. Not sure how autopot guys dont need a flush with the no runoff, there media ec i bet runs in the 6’s or even higher. They seem to be doing really well but feel they are budding a bit slow. It is a 9 week flower time though. Still looking really good for day 28, these will just take a bit longer to finish is all. Im good with it bc im not in a hurry, still got about a half pound left from the superskunk run last year. Here they are! Feel free to critique or offer any advice
Ok guys update number 10. The girls are now 70 days old and 35 days into flower. Or just finished week 5. So my front left plant is still lagging pretty hard compared to the other three but that is ok. I started watering a second time every day to help from my tds rising in the root zone. They are drinking so much that the tds would rise in between fertigation. Without second feed it would only take a week to get it to a ec of 4, or 2000tds. With the second feeding daily it has corrected itself. They are drinking 10 gal a day. Geez i thought i drank alot! My monstercroped clones finally started to reveg and root. My god that took over three weeks to see any signs of growth. I topped those to slow it down a bit bc i still got 4 more weeks of this run minimum. And my front left slow runt will def take 6 more weeks.
That looks like some quality flower brother! You’re killing it!
