I’m currently running into an issue with my plants stretching into my led lights. At this point they have reach to about 3” below the lights. Their a two weeks in flower, and trying to slow them down, yesterday I defoliated the two plants that are tall with the hope that it will stop them. The tent is 7’ and not sure what else I can do at this point. Unfortunately the other two plans are about a foot to 1.5’ below the taller ones. I’m afraid at this point I will not be able to increase my lights for the two smaller plant.
Agree with @StonedCold13…super crop those taller tops to create an even canopy. After the stretch, clean the middle out some for better air flow and light penetration
Since the stems are pretty thick 6-8” down, is the best way to do this by friction rubbing the stem back and forth until you feel the softening ? Just afraid of busting these nice tops
Circulating fans are critical and would suggest 2 in a tent size 2 x 4 or larger. They keep the air flow circulating and will greatly aid in mitigating WPM in high humidity and will help strengthen the stems and branches to support the weight of the buds
Supercropped the tall plants tonight so there is now 12”- 14” below the lights… hopefully the plants recover like yours ….after all the work to get there, it’s painful to do though
Should I be concerned with the stems being kinked where I supercropped the plant, they are turning brown and they are weak at that area so I am concerned they may not hold up bud growth. I softened the stems before bending by rubbing back and forth between fingers, but each one kinked at the bend area. Any feedback would be great
Part of the healing process GrowBro, the branches will turn up and a knuckle will be formed at the bend/point of the super crop . Cannabis is very resilient.here are 2 just harvested that had both main stems split during veg
