Recently received some quantum boards for a christmas gift i have 3 qb120s 2 5000k 1 4000k and 1 qb288v2 3000k and 1 qb288v2 rspec i am so lost in all the techical specs i just need a link to a decent double heatsink for the 2 qb288v2s wanna run em on the same fixture also need to know what i need specifically for drivers or if u can possibly run both boards on the same driver? And i would like to use the 3 qb120s as a veg fixture i was told they dont need a heatsink but id like them on a frame or something and need to figure out the best driver/drivers to run that as well @dbrn32 PLEASE HELP ME hahahaha:rofl:

You can get the heat sinks from the HLG website. They are predrilled for your boards. I am still learning the electrical side so I won’t guess at what to do there. I have a good idea but want to wait and see how it compares to the experts advice. Plus I want tos we if I’ve learned anything from him.

Hlg isn’t an approved vendor, but that’s where you need to go for a pre drilled heatsink. You could maybe make 5.886 from heatsink USA work, but I doubt it would be much cheaper, and would take a lot more labor.
For the qb 120’s, that’s right you don’t need a heatsink. You can build frame out of aluminum angle, probably 1/8" wall x 3/4". Coincidentally, you probably want the same driver for the qb 120’s. The hlg-240h-c2100a will run 3-4 qb 120’s. Next smaller driver isn’t available in 2100ma output current.
Driver for two 288 boards you want meanwell hlg-240h-c2100a. DO NOT get a constant voltage driver, the forward voltage on those 2 boards is different.

Sweet so i found a double heat sink and am looking for a good deal on 2 of those deivers now like you were saying about constant voltage drivers how do i know the difference haha sorry about the silly questions but im clueless about diy qb lights lol im learning haha

Constant voltage driver would look like hlg-240h-48a. If you get driver I posted above you’ll be in good shape.

Thanks a ton brotha one more question do you have a good place to find some aluminum to build a frame for the 120s wanna use tge 3 for a 4x4 veg area

Check grainger or anything like that. If not, local home improvement stores will probably have it.
Anyone got any ideas on the best way to frame 3 120s to cover a 4x4

Not really enough light for 4x4 coverage. You could do 3 in a row and would be decent light in a 2x4.

My wife just talked me into giving her these 2 lights she wants her own grow space 
so shes ordering a 2x4x6 tent and these will be her lights she says thank you @dbrn32

She will do well with them. I would get something like 25’ of 18awg solid, should be plenty for two builds.

These aren’t needed, but make nice clean connection to power cord.
And you need a power cord for each fixture. You can hack up 16/3 extension cord if need be. I have link here for 3’, just make sure to get long enough to suit your needs.
