I’ve always heard this and I’ve got no experience with comparing tomatos but in my case I just cant seem to do soil so my hydroponics smoke is always better then my soil .
In fact by a couple weeks in flower with soil I’m basically treating it like a drain to waste hydroponics grow
If i don’t i get deficiencies
I just can’t seem to do living soils
But with hydroponics I feel like I can control everything better, I’m not a chemists but thankfully it’s chemists that make the hydroponic nutrients though I don’t use as much as they suggest
I’ve no formal education in chemistry at all but you are 100% correct.
I never really thought of it as chemistry but thats exactly what it is i guess
Balancing ph and nutrient contents in hydroponics just seems easy to me, but the thought of trying to balancing a prefect environment in soil for microbes just boggles my mind
I think most people are the opposite so I’m definitely the odd one out
Yeah I was just wondering the difference in the final product. I do enjoy the smell and taste. I really do want to try a hydro run. I also do believe there would be more control with hydro and fewer unknown variables like some. I did use hydro nutes on my first soil grow at the beginning and it was too much, once I switched to the bio buzz everything cleared up nice. Hope to hydro soon. Thank you for your advice.
Some people will swear that they can taste the difference, and they will talk your ear off about their opinion. And others can not tell the difference. Now maybe some of that is also the level of how detailed the gardener was.
I just really like the ease of organic. Tried hydro…not me. Used to do liquid drench drought. Meh. I just wet and forget now. Soil is established well. I see longer veg photo and smaller auto. A little longer to show recovery if nutes off…seldom but stoner here. Other than that i get good terps and trichs. Plants stay healthy on autopilot keeping soil strong. Just lazy guys way. Like many up here it is a chore to be done over excitement now.
Weather or not they know the difference is a good question. I do believe they are different depending which method is used. Ive done clones of same plant for a while, the organic ones have a much better terpene.
Soil grows work me to death through flower and I get deficiencies with soil then I do my hydro plants.
Soil isn’t no more work for me than hydro through veg. But come flower I’m water every other day if not daily with big plants.
If i miss a day or 2 they start consuming themselves and if they get to dry then i get ph issues as the microbial life has mostly died off and the ph tanks
But with my hydro I fill the reservoir once a week and that’s about it
I despise soil with my work and life schedule, me and soil just can’t get on the same page it seems
This blog is spot on! It’s great to see a balanced perspective on organic versus synthetic nutrients, especially the idea that plants only care about the nutrients they can actually use. I completely agree that knowing your growing medium and what you want to achieve is crucial for picking the right fertilizer. Thanks for sharing!
