Outdoor auto flower topping

Hey all
Northeast PA here with and outdoors autoflower question
Do you top your autos? If so with what kind of results? I’m in the northeast PA region and would love a local grower friend to bounce info of of
Let me know what you do for your girls

Generally not a good idea to perform high-stress training on an auto with its limited veg time. Maybe some with alot of experience growing auto’s have done it with good results, but i havnt heard those stories.
@John7 you grow auto’s dont you?

I only do LST and not much of that. I don’t top mine because it slows them down so much. This is a 4 week old plant that was topped by a friend you can’t even tell it was topped except for size. It is in soil as you can see.
The second picture is a 4 week in hydroponic not topped.
I know this is a debated topic because some top autos with great success. I think you can pull it off with close to perfect conditions. I am going to start another grow soon and do some experiments with autos but it’s hard to bring myself to possibly hurt the girls. But you live and learn😁

That’s a hard comparison hydro or Dwc plants grow much faster than in soil, not a fan of auto’s but I’d let them go natural and Christmas tree

Agree to not topping outdoor.

The whole plant will get all the light it needs. Some LST is helpful, or just bending the top regularly to promote side branch growth can help.

I’m in southern Ontario, not local to you but similar growing conditions. I have some autos finishing up outside right now, one already cut down. Didn’t top, just bending to promote side branch growth.

Loving the homemade earth boxes!!! Going to have to try that!! Only about an hour and a half south of ottawa over here!!

They’re awesome to run!

I’m in Mississauga now, but I’m from just south of Ottawa. My family still lives near osgoode and Kemptville!
