Advice on topping

Greetings all.
This is my 2nd grow but 1st auto grow so thinking of topping one of these autos.
Where is the best spot to cut please. I have read up on it but thought asking you Ninjas in the auto section would be best. Also Ive read not to touch autos

Some folks top autos but most don’t.
There is a thread just underway by @Not2SureYet about all the myths and mysteries about what to do and not do with autos.

Thanks @Mark0427, That is good for little ones. Once I hit 3 weeks. Mine is the 2 feed one. It is the jacks I was wondering about. It doesn’t look like it is happy with a water day. It really drops the ppms fast for run off when top watering. Right now. I am on a dry day between the feed or water for these 2. Starting monday. They will go on a regular feed schedule I use ro. My tap is about 535ppm I killed my first grow. I learned a lot though lol

I’m with @Oldguy. Topping autos is controversial and may harm yields rather than help them.

I have no problem with topping autos as long as it is done before flower or any signs of pistil development. If it is a compact indica hybrid then I tend not to top. On the other hand, white widow or amnesia haze with fair amount of sativa I will

Welcome ! your auto is at the right stage if you’re planning on slowing down the upward growth. I like to fim the top one time. That lets side branches catch up and make a nice even canopy. I agree with members Autos has a short veg stage so you don’t want to do a lot to slow growth down. Good luck

I say go for it. I’m running three autos right now (my first three). I topped one, fimmed one, and left one alone. Based on my results I will be topping my two new auto seedlings as soon as they are ready.

I usually try to sprout 5 or more auto’s because there is usually 1 or 2 that get a little sick after topping/fim. Different stroke for different folk but I choose to top auto’s.
