Honestly, I have grown great bud from salts. I have grown excellent everything in living soil beds. But truly, my motivation is to not throw so much compostable stuff to the land fill. Then have to pay to dispose of it. Then pay to bring in more fertilizer for my garden. Even trucking the clean and green curbside burns fuel. My garbage has gone from an overflowing 55gal can, to almost never full 15gallon can. It made a huge difference every week.

I have not got an amendment from the grow shop in probably 4-5yrs. The only things I still pick up are microbes and mellow seed starter mix. I look at living soil as a long game that just gets better w time. Basically a way to save money out and in. How well it grows food and flowers is just a bonus as far as I am concerned.

I am always amazed how fast the lidded 5gallon bucket by my trash can fills up. My 3 picky kids and Bassett hound make so much compostable waste itā€™s silly. My wife thinks I am crazy because I even pick out the cheerios and popcorn seeds out of the dust pan. Stop the vacuum, I see a cheerio. Ha. Donā€™t forget to compost napkin and paper towels too. Thatā€™s free carbon for the soilā€¦
