Soil re-use for next grow

I use Fox Farms organic soil. Its not cheap and would appreciate anyone’s thoughts on re-using the soil. I am looking for advice on recycling the soil, how to remove prior grow roots, rejuvenating with nutrients, any other tips.
Thanks in advance. All of you have been most helpful with previous questions.

They say no and kinda agree but if you amend it and use teas it should work. I’m using Sohum and same thing. But worth the money
I plan on after this grow to amend and. Use tea in two of my pots and new stuff in orher two just to see for myself.

@garrigan62 has a really good home soil recipe, i bet he has a suggestion for how to prepare ur used ffof for another grow

I use depleted Ocean Forest soil with worm castings added for seed starter. I put the rest of my used soil on a compost pile mixed with all kinds of other stuff. You will have to treat it for insects even in winter @Vaffanculo

I used a fresh coco based soilless medium called root organics for my first two grows and then recycled it for my third grow. I just removed the main roots out of the pots, shook the stuck soil out of the root ball, and then broke up all the chunks so it was all nice and loose again. I was a little more aggressive with nutes early on during the veg cycle.

I may have recycled again but I had a big aphid and mite infestation that third grow.

I feel anytime you recycle soil for an indoor grow ur just asking for bug and ph problems. My own experience anyway. Maybe try and find a cheaper soil that is close to what the fox farm offers you? I would toss it

I refuse my soil. Its pro mix. My girl is loving it!

Fucking hilarious. I’ve always reused my soil, with good results. Never added a chopped up snake. I’ll try anything once…

In doors… i would not recommend it… will lead to bug issues at some point…
Outside , I would try it…

I re-use soil for 2 grows i mix with 3 types of manure and blood meal and bone meal. The best booster to soil is dead animal carcass half the nutrients you buy are made with it. I will go to a butcher and buy their scrap and throw it on a compost pile and flip it with the tractor. I will use 2 cups of sinew and ground intestine and bone grissle in a 5gal air pot with pro mix soil. This will work very well for a outdoor garden and will help regenerate dead spots in your garden dig 2 to 3 ft deep and dump a half pound of ground up animal carcass and watch that area come back to life.
I can say enough about blood if you can get it wow it is well worth it they bleed out the animal anyway and most of the time the butcher will give it away and it works awesome to revigerate your soil to.
