Opinions needed. Auto Hermie Situation

Auto is going into 4th week since breaking top soil. 8-9 week total harvest time. Female and happy. Noticed yesterday she turned hermie right where I topped. Spade/shovel head pollen sac still small and developing so I removed from tent and then removed pollen sacs. Question being, should I let it grow out with a little over a month left to grow or kill it. I have one other lady in with it. Not fully into flowerING yet but getting close. On 12/12 and going into week 3. 1st grow so it’s all experience. Can I watch the auto and trim off pollen sacs. (Also didn’t see banana leafs in auto bud) all pistols are still white. Is there a chance no more pollen sacs will grow or is this going to be a fight for the next month. TIA

@Konflict.

Yes I wish I would have took a picture before removing. Hope nothing grows to replace it but if I see them again. I’ll take a picture first. Was wondering if anyone has grown out a herm and if it was full of seeds

Without a pic … could it just be swollen calyx forming ? They will show themselves fairly early from flip.
And the estimated times are typically short. 8-9 weeks (read 12-14 ) for real grow time.

I hope you are right brother. She seems happy even after removing. Fem auto seed. Only thing I can think of is stress from topping but I researched this strain and watched many people top them. Over here scratching my head.

I would keep an eye out for more and take a pic or 2 and post. More than happy to help or tag in some others that will. Peace for now @Konflict. :v:

Appreciate the help. I’ll see if I can snap a few of the bud sites. Maybe a trained eye can see something.

Can’t see very clearly but my money is on the calyxes Plants only 4 weeks old and they are at pistils. Maybe try to load one at at time and that will let us zoom in better. :grin::+1:your 3rd pic is one in question.

Well holy crap. I had one at the base of an auto that went outside but haven’t seen anymore since and that’s a couple weeks. Looks like we are both on the fence for a bit till things change. Let me tag a couple folks. @PharmerBob. @Drinkslinger. @Myfriendis410.
These fellas been at it a while and may have a definitive answer for both of us.
May take a bit but they will check in.
Peace for now @Konflict. :v:

OK I appreciate that. And one last question, you said you had one at the base and moved it outside. Have you noticed anymore come up on it and im assuming you removed.the one at the base.

Yes I did remove it and no more since.
Was thinking it may have been a light leak at the start before going out. Mine are 7 weeks.

It was the one on left. That’s just after transplant.

I considered that but also thought if light consumption doesn’t really play a role in autos being you could go 12/12 or 24/0 and it would still do what it needs. But if that’s a possibility then I believe I know where its coming in from. Thanks for the info

I’m not able to see anything in those pics that indicate the plant has hermed.

I’m not an auto plant expert, but I’d assume they’re much less susceptible to hermaphroditism from light interruptions than photo plants.

I’d go to say there’s sometype of light it’s being exposed to during its dark time. Having a strict schedule for everything then being exposed during its scheduled light off can easily herm any of these auto or photos.

Stick to schedules, seal up the leaks and keep it rolling.

I have a 4x8 that did the same till I was able to finally stop the leak of light from one side to the other. If your not able to then sometimes you’ll have to just deal with a little herm

How true. How true. :+1::v:

@Oldguy … How’s your iffy doin? Haven’t seen anymore signs on mine. Had to get creative bc the light was coming in from my exit exhaust on portable ac. Some black trash bags and duct tape for the win. I’ll snap a pic right before lights on of the ladies and growth. Good development and even defoliated a little on auto. Major defoliation on photo due to dense canopy. Unbelievable how the auto has caught and soon will pass my photo. Hope the auto stays female, it’s looking like she is going to be a monster
