Calyxes or hermy?

On my first grow and need some help determining whether these are pollen sacs or calyxes. I first noticed these pop up 2 days ago. Currently on day 26 from seed. Is it too early to tell? Any help would be appreciated.

Kind of early to tell in my opinion, however the look pretty ballish to me

I’d continue to keep a very close eye on them and maybe even pluck them early on

Good luck

Was this a feminized seed or a possible male, as I agree it looks like it’s probably gonna be full blown male.
If you have other plants that could be knocked up, I’d at least isolate that guy, if not just trash now before it ruins all the plants

Good on you for seeing that early on. I think you caught it well in time

@Mr_Wormwood Thanks for helping out! This is an auto fem and is the only plant in my small 2x2. I think overall the plant is looking pretty healthy. I haven’t noticed any signs of stress. The only thing I can think of is maybe some light leak, I didn’t realize how important that was. I’m seeing lots of white pistils on a bunch of nodes. I only notice these two small sacs/calyx on one of the bottom nodes.

Should I give it a few more days to see if they develop pistils? Or should I already take them out?

That is 100% a male/hermie

Well since it’s your only plant, and there’s only 2 balls (so far) it’s kinda dealer’s choice. If you choose to keep it, you’ll probably/definitely get more and you’ll have to be super vigilant about picking them off carefully before they burst.

Personally I’d just start over and see if it was a light leak and patch it. Dealing with a herm when it’s in full flower and almost done would’ve maybe been worth the trouble of constantly searching for balls and picking them off, providing there are not many, but dealing with that and you are not even in full flower?
Nah I’d start over

I dealt with a hermie plant, pick the nuts off as you see them. Check daily. A few seeds won’t ruin the plant as long as your vigilant about removing pollen sacks.

Mine is great smoke! No need to throw all your hardwork out the window, you just have a bit more of hardwork ahead of you.

I believe mine was caused by a red light on a small space heater, I taped over it with electrical tape and the nuts stopped. Do you have any electronics inside of your tent?

Also, some more pics would help to determine if it’s a Hermie or straight male, if it’s a male chuck it unless you want to start breeding lol

Thank you all… I was hoping it was some kind of deformed Calyx

Since it’s my first grow I think I’m going to pick out the nuts and try to ride it out.

I keep two of my vent flaps open. I’m sure the light leak is coming from there. How do you guys block light from these flaps? I read that flexible ducting or carbon filters should block out the light

@DieselGRWR I have a small humidifier inside my tent but the display is always off. I’m pretty sure the light leak is coming from my open vents. I’ll post some more pics tonight. Cheers!

You only have one plant I would let it go about a month ago one of my plants had like little balls on it I thought maybe the same thing but it was not female all the way.

Agreed, pick the nuts off and see what happens…that’s definitely a pollen sac.

I flipped 5 clones from a strong, stable female and 1/5 threw 2 balls when i flipped her. I picked them off and have not seen an issue since (watch closely tho)

I caught mine too late… I just kept going… pulled one plant but it was too late… maybe you can try and pluck away those sacs… my eyesight is terrible and it would be useless for me… but to each their own… good luck

Because it does have female part also. Apparent in 2nd set of pictures. Pluck them and keep an eye out for more.
Don’t just jump to the conclusion that it is going to keep happening. Sometimes this happens once and it’s done making male parts. Sometimes it keeps on happening. Only time will tell. I would personally give it a chance to to dicide which way it wants to go.

Are you taking pictures with the S23 Ultra?

First pick is definitely nuts. The rest indicate female. Pick those nuts off and let her (it? :joy:) grow
