I have 5 plants from ethos genetics and 1 out of them all is still not showing its pistils by week 5 and im worried its a male? Im not sure exactly about “herms” and stuff and what to look for but i hear check budding sites and lool for little green balls, from what i can tell/ hope its just late blooming pistils?
The plant is not mature enough to tell yet. I assume that these are autos. Every plant can be different in terms of when it starts flowering, so it isn’t useful to compare between your plants progress. Most autos will flower at btw 4 and 7 weeks.
I wouldn’t worry about it being male. Feminized seeds nearly always produce females. Of the hundreds of growers we have posting here, we only see a few cases a year of feminized seed being male.
It’s female, they are female the problem comes when prefowers come out a little messed up, normally first prefowers not quite able to form the full structure.
You’ll see it now and again wait for the next fully formed pre flowers to show or some end up killing females.
It is impossible for a female to be male, I’ve never had one cracked over a thousand fem seeds, I have had these imperfect prefowers though which is why I can tell you it’s female and to wait
Judging simply by the elongated teardrop shape I would assume female. I have 2 plants currently that all the calyx heads have a short stem like those but higher up the plant pistils have popped out of them. Happens to me a few times a year.
Ive seen it often enough that now I’m trying to pay more attention to see if those plants have a higher chance of hermaphroditism because I do occasionally get male flowers low on some plants.
Nope sorry Herms from stress, these just first prefowers some don’t come out right and quite common.
Herms were inbred before they spread the world, all will herm you need to find strains that work for you and grow better.
Im starting to see the same.
