My autoflower turned into hermie?

Hi i have this amnesia autoflower
I just noticed something different i javent seen before this is my first grow
Is this an hermaphrodite plant? Are this male flowers?
And if yes why did it happen?
The seed bank stated that is a female 100% guaranteed

Looks like pollen sacks to me. But others here could tell you with much more confidence.

I’m doing amnesia auto as well. Mine are about 7 weeks old. How old is your plant?

Mines are in beginning of week 3

Week three of flowering? Surely those are not 3 weeks from germination. Did you put any stress on the plant or changes in environmental conditions? I’m kind of a newbie as well, but I feel I’m somewhat educated. Luckily for the both of us , there are some growers on here that are way beyond just “somewhat” educated. Lol. I’m kind of interested myself to find out what exactly is going on. But they sure do look like pollen sacs. Added stress or severe changes could turn it hermie. Beyond that…we will need some input from more experienced gardeners

I agree it’s a hermie. Noob grower as well, but those are definitely balls.

I did some stress
I defoliate for better light penetration
Also i used a CO2 thank
Also on the day when light are on temp is 28 celcius and when off they are 17 celcius
I dont know if some of those thing made it turn into herm i had 9 0lant and 4 of them turn into herm and i hope the other 5 remains female

I doubt the defoliation did it. The temps don’t look bad. Seems like a descent size swing between day and night temps. I don’t think that would do it. But again…someone with little more experience may tell you better. I’m not that experience in co2 tanks. I just have one of those exhale bags in my room. Maybe if there was major swings in the co2 levels, I could see that maybe adding extra stress. But as far as making them hermie? Idk about that. But I would love to know if someone out there has a better perspective

Where you get the seeds?

@Eagles009 is that true for autos? We all know that light leak during dark time can trigger them to reveg. But I thought that was only true for photos. I wasn’t aware light leak had any effect at all on autos. (Reveg or hermie). I’m not doubting what your saying. I’m always up for learning new stuff. :+1:

Honestly im not :100: but I think that’s the case. Anybody care to confirm or set me straight?..edit : quick google search says I’m wrong. Light leak shouldn’t matter. Good catch. Been learning too much too fast I think.

Good to know. Learning too fast…lol. I know what ya mean. I got smoke coming out of my ears from reading so much here lately…and unfortunately it’s not the good kind of smoke. Lol. But hopefully soon.

That’s a bummer ! I agree @NugFlush an @Breezy I would probably finish the plant but keep it away from any other plants .

I am also a newbie. However, as @NugFlush reading and learning so much. I have heard of people cutting male components out and the grow continues. Must be on top of the growing though and continually remove new male growth. I know I have read about nanners and people cutting them out; not sure if this applies to full-blown pollen socks.

As @kellydans suggests, I would keep going as long as it can be isolated from others.

Good luck; keep posted.

I got them in ilgm bank

Just an update on the hermies
I have taken them outside under the sun
I have spend my time taking out every ball or banana I see on the plants im really hoping I can somewhat revert or decrease the pollination
I just dont want to give up on my plants
Right now i dont see any balls or bananas anymore but I will keep an I eye on them and if it goes good i will keep updating
I have seen the first option is kill it but never heard of someone actually tries his best to save it

You are right on top of the game. Removing the male parts should be beneficial to the plant. May still find seeds in the buds when its finished but at least you will have some buds. My first two plants I grew were straight male

I won give up on my plants until they are brown, fall over and die to a crisp. Lol. My point is…I wouldn’t give up on it. But definitely as others have posted, I’d for sure keep it away from my other girls. BCk in the day you had seeds in every bud. But we still enjoyed it.,lol. So hopefully she won’t bust out too many seeds and maybe you have some surprisingly good smoke. Best of luck to ya

Get LED lights. It’s much better they say. Get autoflower seeds . It’s easier and faster they say… Smh. Nothing but problems. I thought because I successfully grew and cloned and grew sour D and Colombian landrace for a few years under a 400 watt MH I knew it all. Now I have the same problem, my first successful autoflower is a transvestite bipolar midget… what a waste of money. I’d be lucky to get back a few ounces of super lemon Haze Auto with seeds…

Genetics can cause specific strains to become hermaphroditic, but grow and environmental issues are among the leading causes of your plants becoming hermie.
