One of my seedlings emerged with yellow leaves. Need some advice!

I had 3 seeds. Strain is white choco. All 3 seeds popped in about 10-12 hours. 2 sprouted a day after planting in FFOF and the 3rd one took 2 1/2 days. The yellow one is still yellow after 8 days with the other 2 being green. The second set of true leaves are also yellow too. Theres barely any green color thats only in the cotyledons. I most certainly havent over or under watered. Light is in the sweet spot. Growth is at a normal rate and even speeding up now since roots have established some over the first few days. Leaves are flat and praying so i dont see any issues that could be going on as the green ones look healthy and growing really well too. The smaller green one i think may have flipped upside down when i planted it which is why it took an extra day or so to sprout.

Additional info: I have good air circulation. Soil is aerated well and has good drainage, temp stays between 70-78. RH stays between 45%-70% but usually 60% AVG. I only water with spring water with a PH of 6.8 and most certainly havent given nutes yet. I check ph before any waterings and spil before i use it. I also tested the soil to confirm that it isnt too hot bc of many seedlings dying in the past so i know its not any nutrient issues or incorrect waterings. I know the lighting is where it should be since i also test the PPFD and DLI with a meter.

What could be the reason for that one to yellow like it is? Never seen it before! Ask if you need any additional info

When it sprouted were the cotyledons dark green like the others?
Or were they lighter like they are now?
And welcome to the forum.

Welcome to The forum like the guy above me says there’s a lot of great people here.
Fox farm ocean from what I read is a little strong for seedlings I usually do Happy frog and a 50/50 outside the Solo cups in the main fabric bag pot. They all look fine the one that’s a little yellow will straighten out on its own.
I am a firm believer of fox farm products only but that’s what I use LOL. So that being said I like to have my pH water between 6.3 and 6.4 going in. I also found that I will always have a high pot per million using this soil so anything under a certain number for me is good.
Those will need transplant and pretty soon I’ll show you what I did stupidly recently and I overwatered my seedlings and stunt the growth I think LOL I was working too much at the moment
those are roots not mold

They were like that since day 1. The other 2 were dark green since day 1. All are using the same exact soil and amount of soil and get basically the same waterings. Thats why im really confused because ive never seen it happen before. Its actually pretty dope tho imo. Its gotten noticeably bigger since i took that picture about 7 hours ago

For real tho

Yeah ive noticed the ocean forest is on the hot side but i usually never have problems that affect growth it just needs less nutes on the first feed when its ready for them. I also like to use the fabric pots as well. It does make a difference. It also makes over watering less likely since the soil has much more air flow. I typically use about 6.5gal of soil per pot too and id say anything over 4-5 gal would need some extra perlite due to the weight packing the soil down. Its not hard to get a bit of mold at the bottom of the fabric pots when you use alot of soil if you dont add extra perlite or moss, whatever your preference is. I also poke seceral holes around the bottom ao it has better drainage too, helps even more. I also plan to do a transplant in about a week. Whenever the cotyledons start to yellow to die off is usually when i like to transplant or if it has 3 sets of true leaves before ill transplant. Surprisingly, i never caused transplant shock in any plant ive grown so far, even 3-4 day old seedlings

Welcome to the forum!!

These gents got you taken care of, havent seen that one b4

When I mixed my fresh soil of fox farm I do a two bag of ocean one bag of frog and about a quarter of a bag of cultivation Nation. I agree on 10 gallons can get compacted at the bottom that’s when cultivation Nation blend is awesome. I also use these gro pro next level risers with sauces so it never ever sits in water and has never got moldy and I wouldn’t put holes in a fabric that already drains.
On my transplants never had a problem myself either. Someone on here showed from Solo cup to another solo cup inside my 10 gallon so it takes me seconds to transplant without hurting plants.

If it was like that from the start then its genetic. It may grow out of it or it may remain the same as it grows. Looks like it is growing fine. I wonder how without the green chlorophyll how it will progress. I would just continue to let her go and see what happens. If its a photo period take a few clones before you switch to flowering and keep them alive, that is if they continue to grow well. If it turns out bad then no big deal or loss. Buy if you wind up with something special then you have the means to continue to grow it again. Or sell it.

Sadly i had to cut it. Leaf tips started dying. Double checked soil by testing to see if it happened to be hot soil. It wasnt. I feel like it was bc the seed wasnt fully developed and viable like the other 2 bc despite one of the green ones behind bc the seed ended up flipping upside down, its still showing 0 problems. Still small so im assuming its still focusing on root growth and will be full throttle any day now. The other green one is exactly where it should be which its 2 weeks exactly since sprout today. Ik the strain is white choco and has pretty good genetics but what i dont know 100% is if its a photo or auto but i think its an auto. I do see new growth forming at the nodes as if its starting pre flower. I would be shocked if it was being 2 weeks old tho and its already starting to smell too so it just might be. Doesnt matter bc either ways, its on the right track

Might have to go that route and mix the 2 with extra perlite or something for aeration. Or might see what coco coir is all about bc it would be nice to have full control on nutes. And with the holes, i typically wouldnt poke holes in fabric pots but the soil i had in it got compacted and got waterlogged very easily just on the bottom 1/3. It started causing overwatering symotoms even tho i didnt actually use too much water. It was just taking too long to dry out even with alot of air flow. Then the typical white mold started growing on the sides of the pot at the bottom so i just said fuck it and stabbed about 100 pencil sized holes all around the side uo to about a 1/4 way uo from the bottom and did my best to loosen up the soil carefully and 3 days later, it was fixed. What really caused it to do that was from some compost i made that i added and didnt have any perlite at the time. Figured it would be fine if i didnt add some, which it was but it also wasnt im only on my 4th grow so my experience i have on growing is low but my knowledge on it is a different ball game. Still learning new things about it and how to apply what knowledge i have to better my experience

2 weeks since sprout exactly. About to go ahead and transplant now that i feel shes ready for the new home. Decided to use a plastic pot to have additional space for my other plants and ones i will be growing ones the seeds arrive. Mainly adding to this topic as an update as some people like to know how the grow went or is going when they read about it on these forums

Good morning two weeks in those small cups if those plants could talk they would tell you you’re very mean LOL I’m going to show the picture again

Can you take a picture of what it looks like in those cups before you transplant them please thank you

Pretty much looks the same as yours lol

I would have thought it was going to be more rootyful LOL I’m a huge hydro peroxide using person, so from seedlings to the beginning water always has three good tablespoons per gallon. Those look awesome
Last question what are the pictures doesn’t look like the plant is in the middle of the pot or is that an optical illusion in the picture
I’m sure it’s centered

I sometimes use h2o2. Mainly in veg since it provides additional oxygen to the soil or if its in flowering ill use it to keep the fungus knats away if they find their way to the plants. Theyre attracted to co2 which i and many others add during flowering so theyre more prone to getting in the plants the more co2 is present. Even with the air circulation even tho they hate wind
Other then that i think it looks way uncentered from the angle i took it with the height of the plant and the lighting in the room. Does look uncentered tho. The second pic was before i evened out the soil. It was just placed in. I just added it so anyone can see it didnt all break apart trying to set it in the right spot lol.
This is directly above it tho. Im ocd af too so it messes with me if its not right😂

Also, the lights arent all blue, just how the camera makes it look. Its a 50/50 mix of full spec and blue and will switch to full spec and red mix for flowering
