I add a full dose of calmag the first time I wet it before transplant then it’s just straight AN PH perfect line. I plan on switching to jacks 3-2-1 for my next grow. A lot of members are really having good results with it and since I do drain to waste it will also be cheaper.
When do you start nutes in coco. I’m a week and some change in. Just getting second set of leaves. I have the fox farm trio
You can start now. Light feeding.
They are about 3 inches tall. Still good to go !?
Just getting there 2 set of leaves
Yep. Coco has no nutrients in it. So start lightly. 200 ppm.
Ph your solution to 5.8-6.0
I’m getting that tool very soon. What does it measure? Part per million of nutes?. Is that a way to know if they are eating? When pr how often do you test ph. Daily?
Tds/ppm tells you how strong the nutrient solution is.
The ph should be adjusted before adding to coco, and after you’ve added your nutrients.
I don’t typically check run off ph unless I see an issue that looks like ph being off.
You can check run off numbers on your TDS/PPM and you’ll know how hungry the plant is. If you put in 1000, and run off is 2000, probably should back off the nutrients.
Same is true if you get back a lower number then you put in. Feed them more.
I read to add your nutes to gallon then ph balance?
Correct. When you add it to the coco, it’s the correct ph to go in.
How do you test the soil ph. Just stick the prob deal in the soil?? And thank you so very much for the knowledge guy!!
If you have a probe meter, return, or toss it. Not accurate. Get a digital ph meter.
To test soil take a cup of soil and add enough distilled water (distilled only, it takes on the ph of something else having no minerals in it) mix it into a slurry and wait 15 mins. Stick your ph meter in, and it should read correctly.
Ahh. Yes I got a digital one. Thank you!!
When feeding the nute water, feed till a bit comes out the bottom?
Yes 10-20% run off. Pretty much as long as you see run off.
Fantastic man thank you so much!!
After the second set, I usually start feeding at about 150-200 ppm.
How does one come to that? I 2as gonna mix up a gallon of the bloom and feed when dry. It’s still moist from Presoak transplant
Hello Watt-Sun, What size/type of pots do you use and how often you water them, hand watering, drip?
I start off in rapid rooters, once the tap root makes it out the bottom I move to 1gallon fabric pots with 70/30 coco and perlite. Once the leaves reach the edges of the pot I move then to their final 5 gallon fabric pots.
I feed every time I water with 20% run off
During veg I hand water once a day until I see they are starting to really drink I usually can tell by picking up the pot and gauging weight. Usually around week 3-4 veg I water twice a day once I get into multiple feedings I use hydro halo rings set on A timer with a pump and Rez
During flower I water 3 times a day
Sweet, thanks for the info, my next grow will be in coco.
