Nutrients for a first time indoor grow

I needed that! I need to stop stressing so much and learn to be more patient so that i can continue enjoying the process more. It just sucks that i bought a light that is sub par. I wish i knew this forum existed before i made my decisions. Im almost 3 grand in and i havent even started yet and thats why im so stressed. I need to plan better!

:joy: you’re already off to a better start than I did. You’re here before you started your plants. That’s a huge plus. I wasted a fortune before I joined here and how I started was a mess in a closet :man_facepalming:

And i was really feeling upset with myself. I usually take my time when making purchases. This time i didnt plan it out well, unfortunately.

Well… take a deep breath. Smoke a bowl and you’ll be fine. Just hit the slow mode button from here on out until you get some seeds popped :call_me_hand:

I think there’s only a lucky few that haven’t been in one messed-up situation or another. I started out with two Cheapo 100w Amazon lights. That were definitely not a hundred watts each. They worked but not very well. Ended up getting a spider farmer 1000 also to help out with the first grow. Lighting was definitely my mess up the first time around. Lighting is very important.

Lol you right! Thanks for your time brother! Have yourself a pleasant night

Truthfully if the worst thing you did was burn some money on lights, that’s pretty alright. Even the crappy lights I bought at first (two VS1000 lights) are still servicing my grow now as veg lights. If you’re too far out to return/exchange the lights, no harm. You’ll find them helpful along the way.

Nothing else I’ve picked up along the way was a true waste. Even the Fox Farms nutes I hate still came in handy often enough that after 10 months, I’m out of the first trio pack.

My tents, fans, filters, etc. are all benefits to have around even if I don’t need them constantly now that I have a good handle on what I need to grow well.

Absolutely. You’ll get slapped with a bunch of recommendations but the best thing I can say is to check out the grow journals for the people making the recs. Some have grows to back it up. Some don’t. My grow doesn’t back up anything I say :joy::rofl::v: It’s a hot mess

The light was delivered this past Saturday. What im wondering is the added expenses like restocking fees and shipping fees. I hope its not outrageous

Did you happen to get it off Amazon? Their policies are pretty generous.

:joy::rofl: yeah but it looks awful while it’s growing.

Fingers crossed for you.

One thing to keep in mind. The 600rspec is one hell of a light. People here grow some amazing plants with a lot less. Don’t sell that light short. It’ll grow some great buds for sure.

I got it straight from the manufacture. Yes you right amazon is so easy when it comes to returning stuff. You just have to say the right things and you even get free return shipping.

Hey guys so I am growing 3 autos all from ilgm. One Girl Scout cookie 3xtreme (GSCE) purple Kush (PPK) and G13. My plants are almost to week 8 since sprout…

Nutrients were a big concern for me on my first indoor grow, as I used 3gal pots of fox farm ocean forest (80%) and coco coir 20%.

At week 5 (week 2 into flowering), I began to notice the older/bottom leaves starting to yellow which is somewhat natural but it was happening at a faster pace than expected. I confirmed with tds meter that my ppm’s were quite low (like 300-400).

So I ordered Lotus bloom and lotus boost nutes.
I knew the shit was strong so started at about 55% dose in week 3 of flowering.

But damn it happened so fast within 5-7 days each plant was fried, especially ppk and g13. They also had been thru a small 4 day drought but I’m thinking no way that caused this.

Turns out accidentally fried 2 of them and may be no coming back. (Ppk and g13). GSCE is doing great now after major scare.

So I flushed each plant quite well until I obtained more proper ppm levels.
My data ….
TDS/pH DATA:
upon watering to runoff…
Ppk: TDS of 1986 ppm!!
G13: TDS of 2004bppm!!

I flushed each until read around 900ppm and only h2o since.

So both these were very high. At least it’s nice when science and data confirm suspicions. However they are not recovering well at all. G 13 has new lower green foliage growing on lower branches but top half of buds fried and dry. Ppk the whole thing is dry from top to bottom and doesn’t seem to be coming back.:frowning::frowning:

Have some pics in reg light from couple days ago…may have to chop?? Does it do any hurry to keep them in ground for Trichomes to be right first and see if anything comes along? The 3rd plant, GSCE is doing great despite slightly high ppm but very strong great.

Pics from ppk cpl days ago. Very dry buds. Very brittle. Had been so vibrant . Not much moisture coming back into buds.

G13…
Very dry brittle buds up top. Dark now like almost brown. Branches on bottom growing new green leaves. But will the moisture ever come back to the dried out buds? Been like a week. For each.

Doesn’t look like a mess to me. Looks more like a growing addicts room :joy:

Out of  atm.

I think you’re probably right on the suspicion that they’re rather toasted. The fact that they have zero fan leaves whatsoever is what really concerns me. Even if they wanted to recover, all they have right now to work with is the sugar leaves. They’ve been through so much stress that even if they do bounce back, they may hermaphrodite.

That said, if you have a plant limit to stay within, I’d cut my losses and start over now.

If you don’t have a limit to worry about, I’d let them stay and do their thing and see if they recover.

For what it’s worth, 4 days of drought is enough to seriously damage their root structure - If that happened during the time that they were also seriously overfed, or after, I’m certain it had an impact.

No. The plants may re-veg, and start flowering anew - apparently autoflowers can do that (it’s news to me but I believe it’s possible). I had a plant I hurt rather severely, her roots got damaged and she tried to come back - never could.

@THC73 I agree about who you take information from. There are a lot of people who pipe in with answers that might not have the right answer. You’ll see from time to time people pipe in with an answer and then immediately say but I’m not sure let’s wait for somebody else to chime in and see what they have to say . So like I said in one of my other post take everything you hear and see and figure out which is best for you. I personally don’t have a journal on here. With me being a full-time single parent and having a continuous grow I barely have time to get on here and read a few times a week. It took me a minute to find some pictures. Especially I didn’t take too many pictures of my plants during the Jack’s 321 time. But here are some pictures to show you I kind of know what I’m doing:-). And some side by side pictures of Fox Farm nutrients compared to Jack’s 321. All of these plants are clones off mother plants so they’re the same genetics. The only thing different in the comparisons would be the nutrients and possibly the pot size. Again with A continuous grow I never know what size plant I’m going to need or what size pot will fit in my tent. Every 2 to 3 weeks I shop so when I’m 2 to 3 weeks out from shopping I start getting a plant from the veg tent ready and I figure if I need to up the pot size or trim up the plant. But again you should be able to tell the difference and the pictures and the quality of nutrients. Again this is just me and my grow different people different results.
