No edibles for me, is vaping an option?

So I think I am one of those people who cannot eat edibles. I mean I can, but it’s usually a waste. I don’t feel it, if I do it’s hellish nausea and headache’s after a very short lived flight.

So I am looking at alternatives. Flower and dry herb vaping is what works now.

I wanted to try maybe some vape carts but would like to try using my own grown.

So let’s say I extract the rosin then decarb it and pretend I do all that just fine. Then what?

What are they using to dilute the rosin? Everything I can find says it’s all dangerous, all of the stuff they use to vape it.

Then- what’s in these carts at the dispensary?

You can vape flower. You don’t have to do anything special. Just grow your plant, harvest, cure and then it’ll be ready to vape.

Right, being a dry herb vape there are downfalls compared to using a distillate vape pen.

My question revolves around the liquid cartridges.

You know, Like those electronic cigarette devices, but for THC.

Gotcha! I’ve been looking into those myself. Check this thread out. I’m sure someone will be able to answer your questions. It’s probably been discussed if you scroll through :+1:t2:

Bingo bango! Checking this one out now👍🏻

Thanks, that is a great resource. Do they have something like this that uses pressed rosin, without the ethanol?

That was linked to me by @Budbrother :+1:t2:

Check out Farm to Vape website. That’s what @repins12 uses to make his cartridges…

Yes, that’s the stuff. Thank you.

Have you ever used it? I guess they call it a liquidizer.

I haven’t used it myself, but I know of a few people who did and were quite happy with the results

My pleasure

And for your edible problem (I have sensibly the same problem), have you tried introducing Sunflower Lecithin in your canna butter or canna oil? It helps bind more thc to the fat cells of the butter/oil, thus delivering a better payload. It helped me a bit, but it still iffy as when they will hit for me. It could take the regular half hour up to 12 hours later :man_facepalming:

Yeah it’s really not ideal. Sorry to hear you have something like it too.

I don’t think I have specifically used sunflower lecithin, I think maybe what I used was soy. I’ll check and give it a try for sure. Thanks!

You start with resin/rosin. Then do winterization in ethanol to extract fats and lipids, plus do any color remediation, as shown in tutorial above. This is how the industry goes about it. The remediated solution is evaporated off and then a partial, closed jar decarb preformed. This changes viscosity and makes it vapeable.

I wouldn’t use anything from a dispensary. The Vapes are mostly full of stuff you don’t want to put in your body. Just do it the natural way and smoke a joint or a bowl. Everybody will do what they will but people are turning this great thing of smoking marijuana into something that itsnot supposed to be. Let’s keep marijuana smoking marijuana smoking and I turn it into a more elicit drug. Just my three cents .

I make carts from my bho extraction.

Basically I mix roughly .75-1ml of propylene glycol (PG) per 1 gram of concentrates into one of those glasses in the picture.

I microwave it 6-10 seconds at a time and mix.
I can take several times in the microwave so I don’t over heat it. (You’ll know if you overheat as it will “steam rapidly” so just try to get it warm without much steaming, but some steaming is ok).

I do not decarb my concentrates first as it will be burned my the vape coil and active the thc just fine..

This works well for BHO extracted concentrates, I’ve never tried rosin or any other forms. But I been makeing these BHO carts for years this way ..

Once I get all the concentrate melted into the “PG”, I then add about .25ml of vegetable glycerin per 1 gram and or any flavorings if I’m useing any flavors, mostly I do not add flavors but sometimes I do fir others..
Reheat and mix several more times after adding the VG until it’s all blended up good.

The “juice” can be vaped with just the concentrates and PG mix, but it’s harsh and not very big clouds of smoke/vape.

Adding in the VG helps smooth it out and produce more smoke/vape with each hit.

Don’t kid yourself, @Donk. Your smoke is also full of stuff you don’t want to put in your body. Stuff like benzene, tars, carbon monoxide, and more; toxic and carcinogenic byproducts from the combustion process. About as “safe” as a vape cartridge.

Relatively speaking, dry herb vaping and edibles are easier on the body.
