Hi All,
Im on day 20 of flower on my first grow, one SuperSkunk and one Grandaddy Purple, and im starting to get a sort of lime color on some of my leaves and some are starting to yellow. I checked on them last night and found an all yellow leaf that had died and fell of into one of my pots. Checked them today and found only a couple (literally 2) leaves yellowing under the canopy. I top dressed last friday with Back Yard Blooms by roadside organics and gave the gals some compost tea also by roadside organics. Last watering was 7pm last night. They look beautiful up top, but the yellowing in the old growth has me a bit concerned. Is this a nitrogen deficiency coming through or is this normal fading from flowering?
Thank you all in advance for your time and help!
Not a deficiency (I see burned tips and leaf color is generally fine) and at 20 days it is too early for fade. What are your runoff pH and PPM numbers? Is it limited to the bottom leaves? The plant looks healthy and it is normal for a plant to shed its lower leaves.
Runoff was 6.3 last water, I didnt check ppm, but i probably should have. Yes it is limited to the bottom leaves, im not seeing any lightening or yellowing in any of the top leaves. I figured it was too early for fade, they’ve still got 4 weeks or so to go, which seemed way early for shedding.
It is normal for them to yellow and eventually fall off. Your pH is in line. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
Thats comforting, thank you for all your help throughout this grow. Are the burnt tips something i need to address? Is that from over-fertilizing?
I wouldn’t worry about burned tips in absence of other symptoms. Manage your PPM and you won’t have to think about it at all.
Heck yeah, Im gonna jump on top of that. Thanks again, my man!
Six or more is going to be a closer estimate. Don’t want to pull that trigger too early. Great looking first, keep it up.
Looking good to me!
Those look great. Nothing to worry about especially if its only the lower leaves. Slightly burnt tips arnt too concerning…it could mean you’re ppm is slightly on the high side. If the burnt tips get worse then you will want to diagnose what the problem is.
Usually if i start seeing burnt tips ill skip a feed. I like to keep ppm’s of my runoff in the 800-1200 range. My schedule is feed-water-feed-water. But occasionally ill get runoff of 1500+ ppm, when that happens i go water-water-feed etc…
That is very good to know. Thank you for the knowledge!
