Thats what I did. It says i can ad some cal mag to the grow so ill wait till about week 6
Keep the taller branches held down and allow the smaller ones to catch up. You can adjust the wire every few days if its growing fast enough. Note that when it does start to flower(the stretch) the larger branches will grow faster towards the light
Sure, no problem. @Solidgold91 's advice is good. Mostly, you’ll know, when there is enough growth warranting more adjusting. When needed, gently squeeze and bend in your fingers first, to help avoid breakage.
I have white pistils now the showed up last week in week 3 tomorrow she will be 4 weeks but I will keep checking on them. Thanks for your advice. Fellow growers like yourself have helped me through my first grow.
Btw i would buy some drip trays and some risers because soon you should be watering until run-off. The risers are important so that the bottom of your pot isnt sitting in the water you cant extract. I use a turkey baster to suck the run-off out, then you can check your ph and ppm’s. At least research it. I didn’t buy a ph pen or ppm meter until my 3rd grow and things got alot better immediately.
Thanks. Im really not familiar with the ppm im going to research that to see what it is. Also new to the run off talk. But im definitely researching
Day #2 of LST for wedding cake auto (28 days) and Royal Dwarf auto (23 days) Both inside of Indicanja soil let me know if anyone sees anything wrong and what I should look for as I approach week 5 for the wedding cake and Week 4 on the Dwarf. Happy Growing to all. I did some rearranging of the leaves and tied down some of the big fan leaves.
It appears that you are already seeing the dramatic growth of the lower branches. That is what LST is supposed to promote. Good work!
As the growth and training progresses you will get many tops that behave as though they are the main stem. That is the goal.
Thanks @merlin44 ! Did some rearranging this morning and tied down some of those fan leaves that were in the way I noticed some growth too. Thanks for all the encouragement. Learning as I go for sure!
Tying and tucking the fan leaves is very common, most folks do it. I stopped doing that several years ago. During veg the most important thing is having as much leaf area as possible exposed to light. Those large leaves are the major source of energy and food for the plant.
Interesting. So better to let them free than tied down?
That is my opinion. Most folks will disagree. You will learn and figure out what works best for you in your setup. I also tend to feed heavily and have very high light intensities (high by indoor standards).
The only time i will tuck or get rid of fan leaves is when airflow is compromised in the interior of the plant. Or the lowest ones that turn yellow because the plant is getting rid of those anyways. Like @merlin44 said your plant needs its leaves to produce energy, so the more the better as long as airflow is good.
I 100% agree…
I will add that, at this point, your plant does not have air flow problems caused by heavy foliage.
I appreciate the advice.
Nice!!! Appreciate the support. Cant wait till she Thanks me later.
Quick question. Wanted to see if this is common or not. Last time I gave the ladies water was on the 22nd its now the 27th and my soil moisture meter says 64% moist. Should I wait a day or two more or just give them a little sip of water with some cal mag. Im not seeing any signs of stress infact there is no more yellow tips on on my leaves except for the old fan leaves. But is that normal? Plants look healthy since last watering on the 22nd
