New to low stress training

Began low stress training today on my 24 day old wedding cake auto. I am new to this so I will post pictures so that if anyone has a suggestion or even if someone sees that I did it wrong please let me know. Hopefully I did it correctly but im all ears

If that’s a 2x2 and those are both fem photos you are going to have a heck of a time flowering both. In the transition to flower they double or triple in size.

These are two autos in a 2x2x4. The bigger one is wedding cake the small one royal dwarf. Does the strellis look ok or does the entire plant have to be under the trellis?

Autos can be unpredictable and you might not be able to use the net appropriately. in general you use a net to control height and keep the plant tucked. This is to help with an even canopy and gear towards max yield for a given space. When to enter flower is growers preference. But with autos you’re not going to have much of a say with when this will happen.

Maybe other farmers will have some advice. @Autos-only @OGIncognito @merlin44 @MidwestGuy @kaptain3d

Thanks for the tag @Low

I mostly grow photo period plants but I do grow autos as well.
Here are three photos of the same plant starting three days before training started followed by a photo of training day #1 and the next day of training day #2. You will notice how I carefully bend the main stalk.

Cherry Pie three days before first LST

Same plant on LST day #1

Again, the same plant on LST day #2 which is the day following LST day #1

Here is the same plant about three months later

I have trained somewhere around 75 or so plants in this fashion. Early on I did get overly aggressive and broke a main stem. It came completely off. I rooted the broken top and grew it to harvest. The original plant recovered and produced just as though I had never broken it off. The plant that I broke was a photo period. An auto might be triggered to flower if the main were broken like that, I am not sure.

Thank you for the advice @Low its greatly appreciated. Im new and these are my first grows so im learning as I go and as I ask questions to fellow growers. Here is a picture of the trellis right now

Did my first tie downs for LST today at day 27. Let me know what you guys think. Am I hurting the plant is it good. Feed back appreciated

Looks just right, nicely done.

@merlin44 thank you so much. I was a nervous wreck lol. First timer here lol. Wedding cske auto and royal dwarf auto

Not uncommon… @Twelve1 is an LST master now but was really nervous the first time too.

Nice work. You are on the right track with the garden wire. I usually dont involve the trellis net until a week before flower with my photo’s. Since your’s are auto’s you dont know when that will be but once they show white pistils you will still have a couple weeks to train. After that the branches will firm up and training gets tricky. Good luck

Looking good @JP537 ! :+1:

@merlin44 Me, master, heck no. Nervous, yes, almost always with a lot of things. :joy: Thanks so much for helping me learn to LST!

Thats a pretty tasty camera you have, looking forward to seeing the bud shots!

Nice work by the way :ok_hand:

Thank you I appreciate that. Yeah I have the iphone 65399476 takes good pics lol. I was nervous as hell i thought i was going to snap something. Any suggestions on where to trim?

Resist the urge to trim…

Appreciate it. Any suggestions on when I know to adjust the ties?

Thank you! I will keep that in mind. Any reason why?

The plant is healthy and growing. No need to trim it.

Copy that. I just bought some cal mag. Im using indicanja btw by purple cow. Any advise on when to add some to my watering?

I am not very creative…I just follow the guide provided by the nutrient manufacturer, Roots Organic in my case.
