About a gallon right now… leaving 2 days in between unless soil is excessively dry. Which has happened recently.
If you said you’re in 20 gallons I would suspect it’s not enough water. It takes a lot to hydrate that much medium. Does she look more perky soon after watering?
Not at this point. Watered and fed last night.
Still a bit wilted this morning. I do still get a bit of run off with 1 gallon. However, on previous grows I would water around 2 gallons starting about halfway through veg. Whichis about where I am.
At one point I was having to water a bit each day because the humidity was so low the soil was drying too quickly. Just now getting that under control.
How long does it take you to get that one gallon into the soil?
Odd question…but I take my time so it doesn’t just flow from the sides.
It’s not uncommon that people pour quantities of water straight in without waiting. It skews watering volume and runoff numbers.
How’s she been looking?
Not as perky as I’d like but better at least. I’ll post a pic when lights come on.
Heres that slightly less than perky young lady… well that sounded slightly creepy
Still not sure what exactly happened.
Temps have been 68-80. Humidity is much better now. Around 50-60%rh
Haven’t been feeding long. But maybe something weird happened with the liquified bergmans nutes. Did 2 weeks worth. Was crystals
I’m at a loss… she does look like she’s doing better at least. ![]()
Plant looks healthy to me.
She’s definitely perked up. Not sure what that was but cost me a week of growth. Hopefully on with the show.
Minor defol and tied back a bit. Decided Ill let it veg until its ready. Leaning into the new nute schedule. Seems to be working pretty well so far. My tallest one so far hasn’t topped 3’. Pretty dam hard to wait when your out lol.
Sometimes you just need to slow your roll and enjoy the journey
Definitely not growing at the rate I’d hoped. Despite keeping conditions fairly optimal she seems to have slowed to a crawl. Im thinking to flip next weekend and just take the hit.
Shes not unhealthy, just a lil wilty
I would gladly entertain any advice going forward, or the next one.
If you’re looking for improved growth rates I highly recommend looking into Coco
So, still not sure what happened, but did a mild flush. Collected around a gallon of run off then feed again with half strength nutrients. It seems to have perked her up a bit.
Also thinking i am blasting light to the degree it isn’t trying to grow tall. So set side lights on a different controller and turned them way down. Guess I thought Id see signs of stress if there was too much light. But it seems not necessarily!
Hard to use dli when light is coming from everywhere
Thinking of going hydro on the next on. Maybe that gets size quicker. Anyone used this?
I have not used that but have 4 dwc buckets that i made going right now and love it
After a bit of hair loss and giving my soul back to Jesus, I contacted advanced nutrients and discovered that I have once again misunderstood the directions for mixing!
The ratios are meant for all watering not just “per week” as I thought.
Watering twice a week at full strength now. Will see how this turns out, but looking healthy and growing much better now.
Was also told that 10-15% runoff is necessary to mitigate salt buildup.
Hate starting one way and shifting gears midway. But hopefully for the next one I’ll have it worked out…probably not ![]()
This is starting to get exciting! Took me a minute to settle into the new routine mid swing, but I think she will finish strong!
So what I “think” I have learned so far..
Side lighting is amazing but has to be implemented strategically, as equal light from all sides seems to make it less necessary for it to reach out to the light. But man it makes it bushy!! So I put my side lighting on a different controller so I could turn them lower until later into flower. It seems to have prompted more vertical growth. However it is still much shorter than I had hoped. Next time I’ll use lighting differently to “steer” the growth from the beginning.
Growing in the winter is far different than growing in the summer (speaking of only indoor grows)
My watering routine was/is way off due to the big difference in rh.
Never needed a humidifier on summer grows. But it seems that here in winter you need both humidifier and dehumidifiers
I will most likely do hydro next grow. I’m getting pretty decent at it with my tomatoes. Feel like I have already made the big mistakes so maybe I can risk it😂
Advanced nutrients seems to have it going on! No where near as easy as Bergmans but the amendments are intended to work with their base nutrients without crashing it. I like that I don’t need a degree in chemical science to grow weed! I can just follow the recipe. Some day I’ll understand it well enough to make up my own, but until then, still happily growing
Settled in beautifully
