New grow #4 apple fritter

Was gonna wait a couple weeks to post any more here but…

All i can say is, “Wow!”said rockdog62😂
Only my 4th grow, but this one is way ahead of all the others I’ve grown so far.
Might be I’ve cracked the code! Or more likely I’ve gotten lucky again🤓

Decided to clip the biggest leave to give more light to the branches

Started low stress training today. Branches seem to be doing as I hoped in that they are growing to the same hight as the 2 new main colas. So now laying over the lower branches to promote more branch growth. When the upper branches get a bit longer I’ll do the same to them. This has worked well for me in the past, but I have never started this early.

Also, have developed odd spots on some of the leaves. I suspect it’s from the vpd over 2 with my rh hovering around 40%. Still coasting on the loaded soil, but it still might be getting too much food because of the high VPD. I may also be wrong…any other ideas? Possibly water splash. But I try to be careful.

Any chance the marks are just nute splash from feeding/watering?

It is possible. But in the past that has looked a bit different. Not real concerned. Just something I’m paying attention to.

Decided to replace my standard “pull” wires with make shift stakes. The pull wires were putting too much stress on the growth nodes. Just got some floral wire and bent into a u shape, then push it into the dirt. My goal is to keep branches horizontal until they get to the edge if the pot. Should shoot out a bunch of branches that might not otherwise get the priority. Some form of this has worked for me in the past. But this time im not playing catchup. Proactive instead of reactive.

Will be interesting to see what i learn this time :sunglasses::beers: I’m quite sure I’m doing something wrong. Its just less wrong than it has been in past grows:rofl:

She’s looking a bit sick the past couple mornings. Humidity has been low for here, around 40% and temps in my tent have been high around 85 putting my VPD in the low 2’s. My strategy has been to tap off an air duct to keep the tent in a good range. But as my first winter grow, having to refigure out how to mitigate my environment. Having to put on heat pretty much ruins that!
Finding that I’m having to water A LOT more often. I watered 1/2 gallon yesterday and it’s already dry finger deep in a 20 gallon fabric. Don’t think I’m in danger of overwatering at least lol.

Just read on ILGM site that optimum temp/humidity for Apple fritter feminized are 65-80 degrees, and 55%-65% humidity.
Seems obvious now what has to happen lol

Along for the ride. I’ve been contemplating getting some Apple Fritter seeds. This thread may push me to purchase some.
I can’t do another grow until March so this thread is perfect timing for me.

I have a humidifier on the way. I made a startling discovery last night, that somehow my lighting got set to manual! So at the coldest when the heat is on, my lights were still on! The poor girl had a rough couple days! Switched it back to cycle and she perked right up and is growing again!
The problem started when i had a controller go out on me and had to order another. Somewhere in the resetting up I must have accidentally hit a button.
So, a combination of heat stress and high VPD is my amateur assessment :joy:

I am seriously struggling to get the rh above 40%! Ive got a decent sized humidifier in there with a pan of water w/ fan blowing on it and its barely at 39%! VPD still riding high. Turned down duct fan, but have to watch heat. Growth has slow a bit but has recovered from my previous oversight.
Seems Mother Nature has her own agenda this season. Don’t normally get 8” of snow around the gulf coast!! We got more snow TOTAL in 12 hours than we have had in the pervious 100 years combined!

Growth has slowed somewhat. Can’t wait to get back to normal humidity levels!!
But i have her spread out well, at least relative to my past experiences.
The stress seems to have taken away some of the deep green I’m used to seeing. Hopefully that will return once I get the environment stable again.

Have decided to switch nutrients to advanced nutrients pH perfect sensi grow and bloom. I like the ease of use with Bergmans. But the grow time fertilizer succumb to humidity and liquified. Can’t buy just that and seems a waste to buy things I don’t need. Especially if they can just liquify. I’ll let ya know how it goes.

Off to the races again! After a couple weeks of torture, Rosie is growing again! Looking lush and green!
Humidity is coming back to normal. Hopefully that mess is done!

She’s a bit droopy past couple days.
I finally have temp and humidity in a good range so not that.
Not over watering. Light seems good. No curling or other stressors.
The only thing i can think of is nutrients.
My Bergmans grow time turned to liquid between grows. Used what I could, then decided to switch to advanced nutrients but shipping got stuck in weather somewhere.
As i was only feeding half strength every watering Im wondering If this young lady may not be hungry?
Nutes are supposed to be here today, about a week late.

What is your runoff pH (or preferably a slurry test)?

I have a blue lab soil pen. One point was 7, another place was 6.4

So I got the sensi grow a/b and b52 and watered in the prescribed amounts.
This morning Im starting to see an overall yellowing. Not bad yet, but concerning.
Temp has been mild at 74/80 and humidity at around 42%-50%
I flipped her to night shift to mitigate heat.
I have ffof soil in 20 gal bag elevated from the catch basin by about 2.5 inches. Have not flushed as I really haven’t fed her too much yet. My lighting is only running at 44% which is a bit lower than I would like, but not causing stretch.
Im clearly missing something.
