Hello folks.
Moving my grow journal from another forum for a couple of reasons. My other site is down more than it is up and I bought my beans from ILGM but I did not realize they had a forum until weeks after I started up on the other site.
Anyways I have 2 White Widow photo in HF/OF with perlite. Top dressed one time with FF soil conditioner, EWC and vermiculite for water retention. I have gardened outside for over 30 years and soil is something I am confortable with.
Plants are 51 days above ground and 9 days into flower. I have made 2 errors in my grow but one was minor and one is ongoing. I had intended to flip a week earlier but when I went to mix my flower nutes ( FOOP bud kit ) my cheapo PH meter took a dump. I had no problems until that decision. due to a snow storm and whatnot my PH 60 kit was delayed. I did not top dress as I expected that the dress would not clear before I got the meter and started to uptake additional flowering nutes. This caused a yellowing condition on both plants and I lost 6 fans on one plant and 4 on the seconds one. plant made it through fine.
The second problem is my noob training on these plants.
Look I did a wall of Tomatoes on an 8 foot fence that delivered 300 lbs per plant ( motgage lifter heritage.) so I can train a tomatos on a wall and in a cage but the growth on these Cannabis plants and my delay in flowering a week late left me with no room, stems hardening up and stacking nodes building up. I would love ideas to land this plane with recommendations on keep on keepin on or throw a net over it.
Vivosun 31x31x63. 2 x 150 watt led with fans in light. one sweep light. One floor level fan wafting up through canopy. Heat control by ACi heater box and ceramic heater warming up incomming air through duct pull and exit. Humidity control by ACi 15 liter humidifier set to track vdp at 1.2. tent temps 80 day 73 night maintaing 1.2 vdp. Night transition increases duct 50% until lowest temp is reached. Even with the humidifier tracking VDP reductions caused a spike of humidity I caught in week 2 looking at history traces.
Going to start pics at current position in grow.
White Widow just fed and leveled out. The plant on the left is 30% smaller than the right side and they were very even through week 4. I have not trained the left plant in 6 days to allow it to reach the hight of the larger plant.
canopy lux 50k with most new growth and fan leaves pulled if light was below 24k lumens. All yellow leaves pulled with the exception of 2 higher leaves that are slightly yellow and one spot but no signs of necrosis
Ph adjustment of nutes to 6.3 and god bless this 2 digit accuracy of the meter.
Welcome aboard! Going from outdoors to in is a whole different ball game! But boy does it have advantages. You jumped in the right place to figure out all you need and then some. Check out SCROG training, or look up Nebula Mainline. Quadlining is a great way to have ample light exposure and nice fat colas as well.
I am enjoying the new skills and the technological advantage all these new toys bring. I do have plans for a larger outdoor grow as I have the room and the time.
Already got 20 apple fritter autos from right here. Am also following a topic here where a guy is like 0-6 on seed pops so kinda apprehensive as it’s the same lot I bought. The WW I think I am 7 for 7 on pops. Every failed seedling and plant was all me but I tried hydro as a first grow.
That was a mistake as I was not fully committed until I failed and went to soil and got the ACI stuff.
I’m a Josh Randal guy myself. Broadcast tv has h&I tv and it has all the old westerns.
Very cool seeing very young super stars like Clint Eastwood and heck so many more in black and white.
I use to have a side gig setting up city folks gardens,
Had mag signs on my truck that said “have tiller will travel”
Got a lot of calls and thumbs up off them signs
For sure. This place is full of like minded people willing to share info. I have never been on any other forums, sure glad I found this one. I have learned loads of info since joining.
Happy growing. Following along for the ride.
Perhaps a more experienced grower could chime in. Stems are hardening and even defol takes prunners ( im a pincher been doin it in the garden 30 years ).
With this early growth are these going to get much more hight? My light is regidly mounted to top and adjusted to a very level overlapped pattern. I can boost or reduce verticle until plants get unwieldy. I am at 50k on those tops and expect to push to 62k by week 6 flower. Light is at 78%
I run my lights pretty hard too, I think I was at 69000 last flowering, it’s in my journal, I’ll tag you, look around! Welcome to the best forum going, I started on three, quickly deleted the other two, I don’t have the ability to put up with the arrogance and hateful people on the other two. You’ll find friendly, helpful folks on here! Your girls are looking good so far!
Here is some funny stuff. Last week we lost power for a while so my apps did not spout my data to any servers
So I got my " Garden glimpse " where they give you numbers.
If you look at the trace they averages the missing data giving me almost high score LOL
Update
Feeding and training today. Raised vdp to 1.3 today due to lots of leaves lol. Defol done on bottoms and rebalanced lights.
52 k at tops 43k most other pre flowers opened up and the majority of pre flowers below 25 k as non viable for buds.
Reviewed PH numbers from 2 days ago when I mixed nutes and added them up. 10.2ml of pH up nailed the gallon and a quarter right at 6.33
Ceramic heater off today as outside is 40 and 80%RH and basement is much warmer. When I reviewed trace from last night the ceramic heater pretty much handled the load as the ACI heater box barely cycles.
The plants can now just about support the 56% average RH at 1.3 vdp. Has used less than a quart of water in 3 days. Still have a huge reservoir of low humidity air in the basement and turning up exchange rate can lower to 45% at any time
Have decided to dry in tent and even cure for the first 3 weeks in the tent as my next grow will be outside but I can not start until closer to a higher dli month. Will start 9 apple fritter autos and see how many make it to the SIPs outside. If I have more sprouts than the 6 planned for outside I will run some in the tent.
