Potheads grow journal

I have 2 fans in the lights pushing down air. The sweep fan pushes the air all around and deflects the air into a swirl.

The .3 temp wave is the fan sweeping on the app screen.

Lowered plants today and defoled bottom of plants below viable nodes. Dropped plants 6 inches with different buckets. Big girl 2.7 liters little girl 1.9 liters.
Lights at 100% and very level at just over 43k. At 3pm ai expect the tops to be back over 52k as they crawl out of the restraints.

Last feeding at week 2 nute strength. The next addition is another 20% and based on the amount of nutes left this $49.99 bud kit would not take 1 plant through flower let alone 2. I do love the simplicity and the no bullshit aspect of this grow and I guess I am going to buy the gallon kit to finish this grow and one more then look into alternatives.
pH 6.3 but I did 1.5 gallons and so had to adjust 2 times from 4.8 to 6.29.

Sigh…

5pm peek

Just grow then.

At least I am pretty sure what is going on. The tops from the larger stems are growing 3 times the rate. Looks like 5 main on larger plant and 4 on smaller plant. Gunna let them climb until they hit 60k lux

LoL it’s like the sensor cup did the Homer Simpson bush trick…

Is the black tube pulling air out from the center or supplying cool air?

The one you see in the middle is the ACi thermoforge. It is on top of the tent with the charcoal filter and duct fan.The one dropping from the back wall high to low is the ACi humidifier.

Cool. Plants look like they’re loving all of it.

This morning I got up to make sure my automations for the 2 controlling apps worked properly. I had been manually moving a duct fan and the night/day temps but the ACi humidifier that tracks by VDP gave me the confidence that one of the apps is not gunna screw me
The Vivosun recipe is now controlling the duct fan for 2 parts. During the transition from day to night 80-73 the humidity peaks for a 1/2 an hour unless the duct fan is raised 1 step for 30 minutes. This worked last night. The second thing I did was put in a limit on temp to activate my duct on high as a backup like if the ACi heat box went nuts and was stuck on high. At 85 degrees the fan comes on as a last ditch cool down the room AND sends me an alert that it happened

2nd automation is heater temp change from day to night are now automated in the ACi app. I got to drop my midnight duties after 12-12 flip and now AM stuff is handled by the apps.
Going to let them alone all day. No peeking cause I know I will wanna adjust this and move that and check this with a light meter bla bla bla.

Sounds pretty sophisticated. Good deal. :+1:t2:

Looked at app and with warmer days and light on 100 the heaters both ceramic and thermoforge are off and temp is above 81. I set it for 80 and trace shows it has been off for 2 hours.

Moved duct up to 4 and adjusted humidifier on setting for on to 5.
Crisis averted.

Well it looks like the main 2 stems are the only ones above the rest. Both are on the outside of the light pattern but that only means they are not as high lux as the inners still above the rest at 49 k with the ones closer to middle about 42k.

Try tomorrow to see if I can get them horizontal but stems seem very stiff

Start of week 3 flower. Nutes at week 3 level pH 6.32

Week 3 starts the reductions in temp and humidity as well as raising the light lux.
77 degrees at canopy. 72 in dirt. Incoming air through duct work 66 degrees and low humidity makes this cake to adjust.

Set ceramic heater aside I am done with it for this grow. Humidity is auto adjusted with setting of 1.4 this gives an average at 77 degrees of 55%. At this low temp humidity is controlled down to about .5%

After fighting this grow with noob training skills I am happy with the canopy tops. Most bud sticks are withing 3 inches and most sites below are within 8 inches. I have defoled very little and can see through the plant canopy to the dirt.
Lux at tops at 60k and at lowest bud sites 44k another 2 inches of growth will put me at 65k lux and that is goal but the plants will let me know. At 65k we are 15 inches from light and the pattern is still pretty level. Closer than that and my 2 lights become 2 lights with not much overlap and the standard 30% reduction of light at the edges.

You could bend them a bit and tie to something. Being your mains they want to grow. Your plants look good. :+1:

The stalks on outside of the light pattern do go a bit higher from my experience. Compromise of over doing the middle to get the outside at correct ppfd. I have wall to wall light coverage in my 4x4 and the outer stalks are a bit taller. The middle part of the plants where light is most intense are the shortest.

Welp the transition automation I just made is now history due to temp change to 77 degrees. As the only thing that drives humidity down is duct speed I had to set it on 7 to pull enough humidity out to maintain 1.4 vdp at 72 degrees and it still took 2 hours. At this point I think the thermoforge on the roof of the tent is working against me. I think the exit air from the tent is being drawn back in by the thermoforge as the intake is 6 inches from the carbon filter.
New settings for app during day.

They really are growing great. Near perfect.

It has been a lot of work and I have learned so much here and on my last forum

Main ideas I have used are:
popping more seeds than I need and selecting the best
ACi thermoforge and humidifier on ACi controller.
Doubled the light to 45 watts per foot. Rigid mounted to top of tent for a good pattern for low cost.
Choose organic soil with organic flower nutes.
Ph60 kit with 2 digit accuracy for pH.
Did not give up on the training. Kept at it. Kept reviewing videos.

I assume we are closing in on coasting a bit where we just maintain feeding and keeping it level. Slowly move up to 65k by week 6.
Today is zero day. After lights out and it stabilizes will put all temp and humidity sensors in same place in tent and zero. Also calibrate pH pen.

Sounds like a well oiled machine in there lol. Very thoughtfully organized unlike my winging it mentality.
