Need dehumidifier suggestions for 5x5 grow tent

Hello everyone, im trying to achieve a proper vpd level between 1,3 and 1.5 right now I have my temps stable at 70 degrees but my humidity is up at 75% rh. I bought a Vivosun mini dehumidifier but it’s just not working. Does anyone know of any good dehumidifier’s for a 5x5 grow tent. I have an ink bird controller and a humidifier I just need a dehumidifier that’s works: also I grow in coco and perform fertigation practices with irrigation lines set to feed 4x daily. I use jacks fertilizer and I will never use anything else the girls love it. Anyways I’d much appreciate the suggestions hopefully I can order one today. I’m just sick of ordering stuff and having it not work so I’m getting suggestions from now on.

You’ll want to purchase the largest dehumidifier your budget allows. It’s better to purchase a larger unit, to operate less, than a smaller overworked unit. This allows more control. Dehumidifiers are rated for every 24 hours, this removes 50 pints in 24 hours of operation, if the humidity is 100% RH.
My unit is similar to this one:
Amazon Basics Dehumidifier - For Areas Up to 4,000 Square Feet, 50-Pint, Energy Star Certified https://a.co/d/4gwDhat

Thanks , I’ve been looking at that one and similar models I’m just concerned I don’t have the space for it. My tent is pretty crowded as you can see. Is there anyway I can set it right outside the tent near the intake fan?

You can do that, however this will produce heat, and change the incoming temperatures, and temps will rise.
In some climates this is a good, and some this isn’t helpful. Lol
I do not recommend it to be installed inside the tent at all. It takes up space, and your dehumidified air is being exhausted put just as fast as it’s produced.
The best solution is to operate the dehumidifier in the same room as the tent. This set up varies based on where and how your exhaust from your tent is going.
Some Recirculated air is okay, but heat will build up in some situations.
When put into use, monitoring is important for best results.

So I should keep the dehumifier inside the grow tent or in the same room as the grow tent?

I do not recommend that, I edited my above comment. I recommend outside of the tent only.

Ok awesome. I have a spare bedroom with 2 grow tents in it . 1 2x4 and 1 5x5 . One flower room and one veg. The 2x4 has not been big enough for my veg room so I’m gonna see if I can fit a 4x4 in there.

Some defoliation will help as well :love_you_gesture:

Also I’m having issues getting my irrigation system to water evenly. Some Potts are soaked while others, specifically at the end are not getting fully watered/ fed every time . I bought a rainpoint system off Amazon and have it running 4x daily for 5 min. At the moment there are just one irrigation stake in each 3 gal grow bag but I’m gonna set 3 in each one this weekend. Anyone have any advice for getting this dialed in effectively for me?

Curious if watering / feeding to runoff? If so are you removing the runoff?
How many gallons are you pumping in there? When a plant hits its sweet transpiration rate, it can easily cycle 4 - 6 liters a day.
Where the tent’s exhaust is directed may also help. During the dry months (now low humidity winter months) I exhaust back into the room. With warmer temps and higher humidity I run the exhaust outside. I also run two dehumidifiers in the room during summer.

Honestly I’m not sure. I put 10 gallons of water in my reservoir and that lasted about 4-5 days. I put in 5 gallons yesterday into an empty reservoir so I could get a better idea of how much they are eating. I really just want to get the water distributed more evenly the first ones are soaked and heavy all the time and the ones on the end of the lines are def getting water just not enough. I’ve had to hand water those a couple times to get runoff so I won’t have any salt build ups. I’m thinking I should get a manifold but I’m not sure. This weekend I def need to put 3 stakes in each or get some halos. I thought this would’ve been a little easier but isn’t that always how it goes ? Haha

Deleted my replies as I now realize he was asking about a dehumidifier.
Old and early morning just don’t mix.
