it really depends. Im not suggesting that thats just what works out for me most time. soil retention, humidity, temp, plant size all that matters so may not need 3 days maybe just 2 no hard number really
Yeah ima start to do that so I don’t kill my plants because I was watering every other day
Dont water soil every day. Environment will determine how fast they dry out. Eventually you should be able to tell by lifting the pot. Lift it when its dry and lift when its wet, you can feel the weight difference. For seedling watering, I keep the outer edge of the cup moist, but never soggy or sitting in water.
Vegging plants in potting soil, I would let dry out before watering.
When my babies were in solos …I used a bottle sprayer to moisten the soil around the seedling being Oh so careful not to get any on the leaves or too close to the stem… Its very easy ti kill them with kindness…We often go on emotion with things and that get in the way of logic…Its like the pet owner with the fat dog or cat…They feel sorry for them and love them but over feed them …cause they love them… 
Over watering and under watering are both bad…But you cant undo over watering if you go off…
Its like in cooking …you cant take the salt back…
