Expertise advice needed

Greetings all. This is a 24 day old plant. Strain is wedding cheese cake. The plant is 3 inches long and the grow underneath the canopy is out of control. But the plant ain’t getting taller as fast as is getting bushier. I have it under a spider spectra p1000. There is another strain next to it that don’t seem to have that problem. Just wondering. What’s going on with here. Here a image.

Here is a top image from yesterday and today. The leaves seem to be fattening and growing.

It looks good give it time and it’ll stretch out. I have a Hindi kush going now that didn’t start to stretch out till 2 weeks into flower.

I notice you use viper spectra lights. I’m keeping that light around 12 inches high. Mostly at 80 % intensity.

80 percent seems high. I have an Hlg 600R I kept at 40 percent all through veg. I could be wrong tho I don’t know your light.

Check your DLI with Photone, it could be genetics or maybe your light is just so strong the internode spacing is super short. But I too, this grow, had a plant that was short and bushy, but that was just her genetics, pic below:

Welcome plant looks healthy , 12" on light is a little close. You might consider raising light To get more spaceing between the nodes.
Good luck :v:

Agree with @kellydans, raise that light and adjust the intensity to promote some node spacing. She’s pretty tight from the pics, do you have a way to check the DLI/PPt🤟

You look good brother. Give em time. Heres one of my Sunset sherberts at about 6 weeks of veg… im under a HLG600 and HLG320XL along with a vs2000 for supplement…

Some strains grow faster then other strains are you giving any nutrients yet if so what type of nutrients are using are u using bottled nutrients or dry amendments

The other plant seems a lot better. Just 10 days older. Same light same distance since the beginning.

That soil was naked. Organic Potting soil by espoma. I added fox farm cultivation nation. Veggie. To both plants. They have responded very well. Just this one seems to be very low. And the new viper spectra light just added it Wednesday. I was working with a cheap one at first.

I lowered the intensity of the lights to 75%. That should be the same as lowering the lights. Right ?

Turning down the intensity is the same as raising the lights, as long as you are getting all of your plants full coverage. Sometimes you’ll want to raise your lights as you space them farther apart, and then turn them up a bit then too.

I like squat plants, easier to keep canopy even. I had gangly plants, hated them. Good smoke tho! And your plants look fine, a little hungry maybe?

Happy growing! :+1:

Its definitely healthy and happy. Its just getting its foundation under it. Roots are likely growing explosively, just can’t see she’s growing above ground, I’ve had some slow starters that just go crazy all of a sudden and blow up.

I would either turned down ur light or lift it up abit more and i would give ur plant some seaweed liquid mixed in water it will help boost root growth and development of ur plant

This not really true. Raising and lowering light doesn’t put more or less photons into grow space, it just narrows or widens the throw of light. Adjusting current or voltage does put more or less photons into grow space but keeps light throw the same. Your measured ppfd at plant could be the same by doing either, but dimming light will always lower the ppfd average or your space.

For what it’s worth, I would also suggest raising light some, maybe try running about 20" or so above top of plant.

Greetings. Lights have been raised. Intensity around 75%. I see the improvements already as she have begun to stretch and continue to get bushy.

Agree on this specific point; however, energy density declines with the square of the distance between the source and the target, effectively making it the same as turning down the light.
