My plant is touching the light

What do I do about it touching the light? It’s just been put into flower, and I can’t raise the light any higher. The top buds are probably all ruined now too. Any ideas?

Just super crop it, or bend it right over.

Yeah give it a good 90 degrees and keep it that way til it grows itself out the way

Plants gonna be stretching for like 3 more weeks

In the future you might consider topping the plants To slow down the upward growth an side branches will catch up and make a nice even canopy.

I ended up topping it, as I read online that the damage to the plant is irreversible, and the best thing to do would be to top it now.

Thanks for all the advice though guys, I’ll definitely be topping, and potentially topping again after

You will also have the stretch during the first 3 weeks of flower to contend with. Did you say you topped the tall one? Did you do it low enough? Post a photo like the one above. How about the other ones?

I’ll post some other photos shortly. Nah, I’ve only just topped the big one, by about 3 nodes

Squeeze top stem at height you wanna be. Rollit gently between fingers squeezing untill feel a slight pop. Bend her over how you want her to lay. Forget her. Every mother i grow i have to do that. She will stop around there. Any sides that decide to take its spot can be done the same.

You look super late to be topping. And even if I did, that top would be a clone project lol.

The supercropping was probably ur best bet. A nice clean fold… but alas. A solution for a problem another time…. Hopefully! They dont look fully in flower, so stretch may continue….

Are you using the wire hangers if you are this is what you can do get four rings from a key ring they have be all the same size now where ur hangers would clip on u put the rings on and then u just use ur rachet straps to the rings then u should get more height for ur light

Don’t be afraid to bend over your big plants just do it slowly so you don’t make a sharp bend in your plant

That sharp bend/crease becomes a knuckle pretty quickly. I actually aim for it. What you dont want is to snap it off or tear too much stem skin

My plants are too tall also. Newbie that I am. Just kicked into 12-12 about a week ago and am trying LST with cotton strings.

Any harm with cutting the top of the plants down other than loss of some height and yield?

No harm than what you mentioned and it might set you back a week to allow the plants to recover

Yup. If you are in 12/12, and you remove tops, you are removing future colas (the biggest buds you plant will produce). So if you plan on doing some cutting at the top, go a bit overboard and push your expected light flip date back a week or 2

So what you are saying is if we top the plants change lights back to 18-6 for a couple weeks?

i bought a bag of keyrings on Amazon for 5 bucks and plan on raising the lights up almost to the top of my 5x5x80 inch tent. i also expecting delivery of 2 spider farm SF1000D lights to go with the other 3 lights in the tent.

If youve been in 12/12, I would yes either flip back to 18/6 to trim up. Or not cut on them at all and use some extreme lst. Get in there and break those girls backs
