Ya, they just need to be proper electrically to work. You could use 2” bar stock and mount each strip to its own piece of aluminum and then bolt them all together if you want.

The thought crossd my mind at home depot. Then had buukoo angle for sale. I guess what im asking is. If i do 9 strips on the 12x24 and 9 more on the other. Even with drivers away from board… ill have heating issues? I believe u said the 16x24 was ‘pushing it’. Should just look up but its sooooo much junk up there
Oh ya, that’s not enough surface area for all of them to be sharing heat. If you can get angle cheap, put them on 1”x.125 angle.

Looks like 24”x24”x 1/8” on eBay under $30. And that particular seller will lump shipping too. Two pieces under $80 shipped doesn’t seem too bad to me.

Damn I was busy all day or I could’ve offered you other options. I got all my remaining pieces ordered today as well. Will start assembling as soon as my heat sinks get here. I used heat sinks from heatsinkusa and U channel from grainger will be my border. It’s just wide enough to put it on its side and fit the heat sink into it.

I thought about peeking at heatsinkusa. But got 2 pieces for $70 after s&h. Not bad. 2x2’s. Just gotta tough out the wait til the 9th. Thanks for the advice as always everyone. N mad props to the Light Doc @dbrn32

No worries that’s not a bad price. I paid the same after shipping for 24 pieces of heatsink. And mine will require more work putting it together lol. I only paid $6 each for the U channel I’m using for the border but it would’ve worked just as well for mounting the strips. They are 8’ long. Only reason I’m doing it this way is to make it a bit more rigid. I wasn’t sure how rigid the heat sinks will be. Guess I’ll find out soon enough lol.
Are you going to put a dimmer on yours or did you get the A model driver?

I got the a model. Kinda worried about less control of dimming. But intend on using a room not a tent. So i can always just jack the distance. Cant wait to finally be powerd correctly
You’ll be fine. Seriously doubt you’ll ever want to dim as low as you can.

Nice. I went with the B I’m hoping to mount the driver’s on the lights but it depends on if it feels sturdy enough. If so I’ll have a dimmer on each one at the front edge. I’m going to turn two panels off and dim the one in the middle for seedlings. But that’s plan A so who knows what will happen lol. I just got the email that my heatsink shipped out. Looks like we’re going to be building lights at the same time.

Yup. Just got my ‘inquiry on expedited shipping’ email, he said it would have been 55$ to bump up to friday (which is a HELL NO) So he shipped off and itll be here monday. Just have to be patient. Just came off lunch n I swear i spent more time looking at lighting parts then eating or checking on my girls…

I would research that more before getting too deep. There are 90cri strips available, and the higher intensity is less prevalent gains are suppose to be.
I was just thinking for getting flowering to start faster and they claim it helps bulk up buds. I think you lost me though with the technical part lol. So when I get closer to that point I’ll hit you up to see what’s available. It’ll be a few months down the road at least.
It’s not super technical. Most of the modern 90cri leds produce enough 660-740nm. And the Emerson effect is applies more to low intensity lighting than higher intensity levels.
