I got this one in Home Depot a few years ago for around 40 bucks. It works perfectly, and I use it on the building materials setting.
I use a green scotch pad to keep the pins clean.

A good way to tell if the bud is dry is to grind one. If the resulting flower feels wet its not dry, if its smooth like velvet, then its dry.
