I just got this to measure moisture in drying buds. Not sure if I’m using it correctly. I set it to “wood”. When I get the readings back it says anywhere between 7% to about 12%. Am I supposed to be looking at that number or the moisture bar with percentages. What should the percentage me. Don’t have to fuck up another dry. Thanks.
Yes…it is the best way to make sure you have the right moisture level for cure. I am a fan of Grove bags. This is their advice on how to measure moisture level in a bud. I usually bag around 15%.
Hi I have used a moisture meter before. I believe it is supposed to be set to hardwood and you are looking for about 11%. Go into the bud itself, not the stem of the buds. @Newt is a great resource for drying, I’ll tag him here so he can help direct you. I know he has info out there. Good luck!
Looks like @Riskguy and I were answering at the same time! and yes, once you use grove bags, you will see why they are great.
Thanks !!!
@Newt and I also sweat before bagging. He recently posted this answer on another thread. Check out the mentioned website
The bags will work at those humidity levels. If it is dryer outside, you could open them for a few minutes, and then close them back, but if it is more humid outside, have faith in the bags. Did you sweat them before bagging?

I got a pic around here somewhere… thats the moisture content i want for pressing… its been curing a few weeks in that pic in grove bags.
Hadn’t heard of sweating previously. Thanks for the info.
