Mars Hydro UV 45 Led Bars

Does anybody have any experience with the Mars Hydro UV45 light bars? I added them to my fc8000 a couple of months ago and i run them full time with the fc8000. And i just read mars hydros blog about the UV45. And it has a crazy schedule i could never follow. And im wondering if its ok to run them all the time. Any information appreciated.

@Hodo420 I ran them all the time in veg it will give the stems a little more stretch than usual but that could be counteracted by lowering your lights and banging them to keep them low and tight but yeah I like the lights like I said I ran them both all the time in veg ran them all the time and flower up until two of the plants matured quicker than the others so I have the IR off for now but it definitely helps if you’ve got a mono crop or something the IR helps all the buds ripen consistently throughout the plant that I have noticed but yeah I saw their schedule it was kind of crazy just if you see a little too much stem stretch turn the IR off I was trying to figure a way to get a separate little driver to put the IR on a timer hope this helps the IR will add a little more leaf temperature that’s the nature of ir lighting @MeEasy has been using them for a while

I’m on my second round using the UR45 bars and I ran them on the same schedule as the fc6500 and I didn’t see anything wrong with them running all the time. I did as @JJ520 said have a couple plants grow up pretty tall but I see that a lot under all my different lights, some strains are going to stretch more than others. Some of the breeders will have it in the seed description but I’ve noticed they are not always correct with what happens in the growroom.
I was thinking about turning off the ir on one side and putting any plants under it that are wanting to stretch more than the other ones just to see if it slows them  down … but how would I really know if it stopped because of what I did or if it would have stopped anyway   I think unless I go to growing the same strain multiple times I may never learn anything… gotta love the challenge of this wonderful addition  happy growing :grinning:

For every study that suggests either of these portions of light will help you the same study or an equivalent study will show they don’t. For example, Emerson himself stated benefits of nir only observed in low light intensity conditions. And anything that has come out about uv has been contradicted, so becomes more a situation of what or who you want to believe. The one thing that’s easily repeatable is that you can grow A grade buds without either.

I believe from my own experience UVA provides a much healthier plant when ran in conjunction with your main lighting in veg/flower same schedule I’ve noticed a big difference in trichome production as well using the UVA and
