When you train your plants with LST, do you stop training after the stem overlaps the edge of the pot or do you still continue training it? If so how would you shape it? Let’s hear it!
I do no training and instead trim only as necessary to maintain good airflow within the plant’s canopy.
My approach and goal to LST training is to spread the plant out tieing the top and sides back to the pot. The goal is to create an even canopy. You want the sides at an equal height as the top main. Once I’m happy with the structure and the stems are rigid I remove the tie wire ![]()
The other strain I have, which I have another post about that plant, I started to train but I didn’t start early enough so I decided to stop and let it grow how it wants and just trim as you said you do. Comparing the sizes of the colas between the 2, it’s definitely clear that the trained one has colas all about the same size compared to my other one. The untrained one is getting close to too tall
