Kimcj’s First Grow

Now you’re asking the right questions give me 2 minutes and I’ll put you together a feed assistant

That would be great

Feeding is all about PPM & ph

Right now your soil is 810 ppms on the sick girl you want to bring that up to 1000 ppms it takes practice to get the numbers correct when feeding to maintain a thousand PPM and also understand how much to feed to obtain that 1,000 PPM runoff.

I’m assuming since you’re saying you are 35 days from the seed popping the dirt we’re going to call it week three of vegetation.

If I had to guesstimate your next feed total should be 600 PPM per gal we’re saying you’re in week 3 so look at the chart you’re only going to use
Big Bloom
Grow big
Calcium magnesium

What I would do is start with 1-1/2 gal per plant of water (to obtain the proper runoff) in a 5 gallon bucket

Your feed below (you’re going to measure everything you add in ppm)

Tap water = 250ppm (estimated)
Then you add
Cal/mag = 150ppm
Now you’re up to 400 PPM you have to add Big bloom = 125ppm
New Total 525ppm
Now you add Grow big = 75ppm
Total feed 600ppm

Now pH your water to 6.5

Make sure ingredients a little bit at a time until you reach the numbers above. Even if you have to use drops to get this correct.

It’s also important to keep a document of your ppms and pH going in your feed and a document of your ppms and pH coming out of your feed every time you feed

Do you understand this feed method above?

I’ll have get a shot of my Sugar pumpkins vs Acorn squash…Epic battle!

I believe i understand.
You mix each item separate to its level and then combine
Cal-Mag
Big Bloom
Grow Big
In that order then adjust PH to 6.5

Correct?

All about the ppms ma’am. You should seek 6.5 in the runoff and make adjustments to meet that

I don’t think you got it.

1.) you start with water
Pour 1-1/2 gallons of water into a 5 gallon bucket. From what you said your tap water equals 250ppm

2.) now slowly add calcium magnesium until the PPM in your water reaches 400ppm

  1. now slowly add Big Bloom until your PPM in the water reaches 525ppm

  2. now slowly add grow big until the ppms in your water reach 600ppm

  3. pH the water in your bucket to 6.5

  4. slowly water your plant catching all the runoff.

  5. document the runoff PPM and pH

It’s that simple. Please let me know if you’re confused in any way this is very important

The deer came and ate all of the leaves in my larger pumpkins

They are outside the fenced yard.

Now I’m kicking myself for not putting the Hoop house around the garden too :unamused:

I don’t know why I thought you were in 10 gallon pots. 1

1 gallon + 1 cup gives you exactly 20% runoff

I think I’ve got it now.

How long do you store your mixed nutes?

I mix them slightly before time to feed I don’t store them.

If you wanted to mix the night before you can but do not pH to 6.5 until you are ready to feed

I do have sunflowers in 10 gallon
But I’ve got them covered

Do you want my suggestion on your plant number two?

Ok that sounds good.
I’ll just probably start mixing in the lung room. I usually do in the kitchen in gallon jugs

Of course! I’m always wanting to learn more!

I think you said your ppms were 1200 or something. I wouldn’t feed her any nutrients this time.

1.) mix 1 gallon and 1 cup of tap water that you say equals 250 PPM

2.) now add calcium magnesium until the PPM in your water reaches 425ppm

  1. just before time to water, pH the water to 6.5

  2. slowly water and document your runoff both pH and PPM

Yes you’re right her PPM yesterday was 1229.

I must just have one more sensitive than the other

I have others that are auto and younger that I’m not happy with their growth. They have been slow going at every stage. But hey no leaf problems.
I guess learn this with a photo so the plant can recover

How often do you add the cal-mag? Each feed?

This is the simplest way to feed. You need to understand the ppms of each individual thing you add to your water including your water. All of it has a PPM value.

This method of feeding is not specifically for photo. It’s how you would feed any kind of cannabis plant.

And it does take a while to get used to and understand

Rather than using calcium magnesium in large amounts I spread it out to every feed but I use it in small doses. 150ppm is perfect to add to every feed/watering. This will 99.9% eliminate any chance of getting a calcium magnesium deficiency
