Journal 4: More Light

@Nicky Im using Root Farm pH down. It works well with everything else.

Im going to dilute the mix down to 50ppm and see if I can work with that otherwise I cant pH down at all.

dont do 1.4 my number came to 1.2 grams = 100ppm

Do 0.7g my friend lol
Ignore the ppm
I found 0.7g is enough to leave residue in the bottom of my tank so that means more won’t help and I’m. Running a pump to keep it mixed so meh it’s enough

Anytime ash just tag me because I get behind and if I see you tagged me I’ll jump right on it.

Sorry I threw mixed info at the start about the 100ppm…
Idk they say it’s 100ppm at 0.7g but it’s not by your measurements yet 0.7g is enough it won’t all dissolve so I just don’t see the point in using more.

I know with Jacks and the armor SI. I come out to 5.8 every time with no up or down  I still haven’t opened the agsil bag yet

@Not2SureYet What I did was use 0.7 grams per gallon like @Nicky advised. I was able to lower my pH but had to use a lot of pH down. More than normal.

Give it a few mixes and you will have it dialed in and can help me

@Not2SureYet thing is, I dont know if we should go lower than 0.7g per gallon? What determines a good amount or boost you know.

I can try half a gram if that is still sufficient, should be easier to bring down the pH

I would ask @dbrn32 or @Nicky They both know more than I do. You could use none at all if you wanted. So using a little less would not hurt. I was growing with no silica till @Myfriendis410 directed me to it

@Not2SureYet That’s what Nicky advised. My last grow i didnt use any, I guess you’re right, lowering it wouldnt be an issue.

Im using it mainly for stronger branches and to help deal with heat stress issues and for trichome production come flower

Use 0.7

Thr fact that you had to use PH down is a good sign it shows the strength of the silica, I talked to the guys at national silicate in Toronto.

My advise is get AN PH down when your done that bottle.

You want silica in your coco and the 0.7g is the ideal ratio, so stick with it.

@Nicky I increased my epsom from 1.2grams to 1.4 grams per gallon two days ago. I’ll monitor new growth. If issue persists I’ll increase it to 1.6 grams.

Ive had this issue most of the time with my plants. Now I get why increase the epsom now.

Thanks a lot Nicky. That was something I couldn’t figure out as the color and look of my plants wasn’t that good

@Nicky Im not sure what that is by the way, incase you were referring to that white spot that’s circled. Could be a quality issue with the picture

I was mainly concerned about the underlined light colored spots

Sorry forgot to attach the picture @Nicky

I didn’t see any circles I was taking about the overwhelming leaf cell change.

If your worried at all flush it and give it a full feed with your new ratio.

I’ve never been above 1.2 myself but every environment is different.

I would think 1.4 would do it otherwise I would do a flush and try 1.4 again because maybe something else is going on…

Are you autopots?

@Nicky I think i’ll wait and see how they’ll react to the 1.4. I just attached it above your post. I forgot to the first time. No I’m in nursery then transplanting to fabric pots. I’m worried about all the flooding and what not with autopots

Your fear is holding you back ash! They won’t flood you just double check they are pushed fully into the tray your wel experinced enough to not make that mistake.
You can also get a water alarm and put it in the base of your tent which can go off or some even notify your phone.

The circle on the left is a camera trick lol, it’s the end of the main leaf but the lower leaf sorta crosses over most but not all of it and a bit of the shiny tent bottom.
