It might perk up some tomorrow they often go like that towards end of the day
Ill see how it is tomorrow and check back in! Thank you!
An update from yesterday also a question! I gave it a look towards the end of the night when the lights turned on and it was still in its same state but the soil had dried out mostly. I ended up adding a small amount of ph water to see if it could help and this morning it seemed much happier!
I did notice the bottom leaves were very yellow now and starting to majorly curl, should I do anything to try to resolve those? or just let them go the route their going? Ill be getting that meter ordered probably tomorrow or friday so that I can start measuring ppm and ph in my runoff.
Its good it bounced back dude but you gotta hold off on the watering a little. There’s no giving it a little watering, its either completely drench it or don’t at all.
The dry soil is a good thing that’s when roots have oxygen to breath and i would want at least 24 hours of that. I generally feed every 3.5 days (mature plant) so twice a week in soil. It can be hard to not do anything to the plants other than watch them i get that but dont go at them with water all the time.
The damaged leaves, wont recover, you could pluck them off but i would get everything under control before opening up tissue and causing extra stress etc.
Dead crispy leaves can leave you open to mold, but they have a way to go before that
Oh okay! Im still trying to get an understanding of how and when to water the plant given its current size and state. I appreciate the help and information. How much should I water at a time do you think? Just until the soils very drenched or a certain amount? Sorry I have so many questions, I just have a lot that I know I need to learn!
Until water runs out of the bottom of the fabric pot. Be sure to let your soil dry out before watering again.
What Midwest said, and know that the quantity will increase with the size of the plant, so your nutrition will be adjusted towards that also. Its a good idea to stay with one nutrition and soil line and get a feel for feeding habits. But a schedule is a must and suggest journaling what you do and when you do it. Make your own referral manual.
Dont apologise for the questions, each one teach one and all that
Hey! I hope all is well! This is how its looking today! The bottom leaves are starting to majorly curl and die off at the moment. I was planning on starting my proper watering and journaling now that the soils dried out completely! Ill make sure to water until water comes through the bottom of the pot! Besides watering is there anything else you suggest that might help it? or would you say its in a decent condition?
Hey buddy good to see it looking well!
Have you watered since you posted the above?
I have not yet! I wanted to let it breath for as long as possible since Im quite certain with the way I was watering before that the soil didn’t completely dry out. It seems to have gotten a bit worse overnight so ill water and see where it goes!
Ive just gone and watered so I also got a few pictures to show the difference! When I watered I watered until the water started to come out of the bottom as instructed which ended up being a hair more than a quarter of a gallon!
Sorry to keep asking so much but I just want to make sure shes all set to keep living a healthy life! With those bottom leaves now curling like that and you mentioned they were susceptible to mold should I pluck them? Also I noticed that some of the lower ones were starting to curl and yellow at the end a bit. Would that be because there are too many nutrients? Or would I have to wait till I get that meter to truly get an idea of what’s going on?
@MidwestGuy @Dinky
Sorry to bother on a sunday but I was hoping that I could get some advice before my plant goes south. Over the last couple days it seemed to have gotten a little bit better I watered. Just today though I noticed it starting to droop a bit and now I have other sets of leaves starting to curl pretty good. The soils still somewhat damp so Im sure I shouldnt water yet, but Im very uncertain on what to do and very worried for her.
Whats up dude sorry didnt see your last post feel free to tag people that way they will be notified, you wont be berated for it.
The meter will tell you what you need to know growmie when does it arrive? It would be worth going on YT while waiting for your meter so you can see how to calibrate it cos thats a little job on its own if you never used one
If your soil is damp then youre making the right call to not water, i think it was 2 days ago you last watered?
Show us a pic of the whole plant and another one of the upmost top growth from above.
I just put the order in on friday so it doesnt say theyve shipped it out yet. Im assuming it’ll be a bit slower because of labor day. Im hoping early next week though. Ill make sure to tag next time so you can see it!
Nevermind about not knowing when its coming! I found one on amazon the pc60 that I can get by tomorrow!
Thats great!
Honestly just be strict with your watering schedule, if it has been two days since your last feed you MIGHT water it tomorrow but i would say the next day would be the safer bet.
If the meter comes tomorrow it will need calibrated so thats your plant related activites sorted lol.
Then water it until you get the same runoff as last time and measure the ppm and ph. Id say you’re running pretty hot probably touching 2000 if not more.
I know the plant doesnt look ideal but trust me, theres a lot of life in that girl.
Go ahead and pluck those crispy leaves, leave the rest.
Side note - I cant fully tell, but if your plant is in lights off just leave it alone, not worth the aggro
I truly appreciate the help so much! It is currently in lights off so Ill wait until they turn on again to pluck an of the leaves! Ill hold off on watering a bit and once that comes make sure to calibrate and check the ppms! I can definitely tell she’s fighting! Its been an up and down journey but I hope she comes out on top! Thank you again!
Very welcome bud happy to help, this forum helped me grasp a ton of stuff and just put the pieces together too so im just returning the favour. Im sure you will stick around and do the same in the future
And if it helps for some reassurance the plant that i harvested just this weekend also started off in hot soil, and had burnt leaves around the same time yours did. I’d say when its dried ill have 8-10z from just that one
Hey gromie
Newbie here…Me thinks you need to learn the Very dry phase weight of planter …which you might already be there…;> multiple times maybe,…;>
When dry run a half gallon (at least) of Plain water through her (Slowly around edges working inward) half then wait …smoke, wander and ad the other half of either 3/4 -1gallon PLAIN water ph’d to 7.0 one time only then the other guy’s and gal here can take over …I’m used to trying to “recover”…
I need to ask my other past hip to whether I might be on track …
@Newt , @Graysin … Oh and my man @kaptain3d
Edit cause
then wait for it to dry out Completely Again and repeat then feed Maybe in a few ;>
good luck it’
it’ll be fine with water a few…
