I just re-read my post and it was way unclear sorry, try again here
I meant with very dry pot (wilting leaves or before hopefully) get 3/4 of a gal for 3gl planter at least , and one gal. for 5 gallon fabric pot plaain ph’d water soak her down slowly as above…outside to inside half of your total water (whether 3/4 or one gal depending on your planter size)
Still prob not real clear but yeah Dry then Soak and Leave alone…repeat… won’t need fert for maybe a couple rounds of said process …Then load her up if you wish!
Good luck! @kaptain3d @jeremyg

Hello! Thank you for recommending me that procedure! So I should soak with half of that 3/4 a gallon to start off then let it dry and soak again with the other half of the 3/4s? then just repeat the process while monitoring my ppms until they are in an acceptable range?
@lovenature

@Dinky Hey there! I just watered my plant, took a sample of the runoff and tested it! This is where it came out too. The ph doesnt seem too bad but the ppm is out of this world.

I just plucked the other bottom leaves and now the next set up is looking like this!

Hold up is there a ppM setting on that? 4.06 ppt is equal to 0.0000406 ppm and i cant see that being right. Havent used the apera pen i know its good but maybe im missing something.

Ph is spot on

Hey @Low just asking your opinion while you’re online, im confused reading this

I’d be questioning the meter. I’ve gone through several of them for issues like that. I’d change the scale to 5 or EC calibrate and re test

@Dinky @jeremyg

Anyway this is from apera

If you are in an industry that requires you to measure the TDS (total dissolved solids) in a water solution, you may sometimes get a measurement that uses parts-per-thousand (PPT) rather than parts-per-million (PPM) on your Apera tester.

It is important to know that 1000 PPM = 1.0 PPT. They are the same measurement made different by only 3 decimal places.

So for example, if you get a reading of 1.86 PPT, that would be 1860 PPM.

It is similar to if you are measuring distance in feet. Eventually, once you have thousands and thousands of feet, you can instead measure in miles. It is the same principle here. Large numbers are transformed into smaller more manageable numbers yet still mean the same thing; 10,560 feet is 2 miles. 2000 PPM is 2 PPT.

Most Apera testers will switch from PPM to PPT at the point it reaches 1000 PPM. It does this because even the most inexpensive of our meters are capable of testing up to 10,000 PPM. That number is too large for the 4 digit display on our instruments, so we must convert these measures into smaller numbers for ease and convenience. That is why we include the PPT measurement unit.

Here are some more examples to help clarify the relationship between these 2 measures:

1500 PPM = 1.5 PPT

1750 PPM = 1.75 PPT

2.5 PPT = 2500 PPM

3.95 PPT = 3950 PPM

So by this logic that would be 4060ppm

Good man L makes sense thanks for that.

The 4k reading is probably right but @jeremyg if you understood what he meant regarding re-reading then fire away (hopefully you still have the runoff).

Write down your numbers anyway and the date fed.

Measure the ppm of the water you use also.

If you can read the same runoff again lets see the results first otherwise probably best to read the next one before deciding on further action.

Did you manage to get some purified water? It’s not entirely necessary, but if you need to flush (and i think you do), it’ll make things a lot easier.

I kinda know but I can always go to the apera video i watched to understand a bit more! I did calibrate it before using and it seemed accurate but ill redo that tonight and yeah ill see if i still have some of that sample! i currently have steam distilled water but ill pick up some purified as well, im thinking itll need a flush as well!

No…So sorry for my illiterate self… depending on your planter if it’s a 3 gal …when you KNOW that it’s dry (pic it up feel…are the leaves turned downward etc…) Then get 3\4 gal of Plain Ph’d water dechlorinated etc. , add half slowly, as above,

Yeah just slow and evenly …LOL and wait a few and add the other half of remaining water . When it’s dry you don’t want to pour all at once . Take your time and let it slowly absorb …Don’t want it shooting out the sides of the fabric pot… This is just a 1st reset IMO get the soil evenly hydrated and let her dry cycle again before one more same technique. read her for nutes later once she settles in…;> :sunglasses: Help me here @kaptain3d ;> Am on the right track here? Oh snap edit
Just saw the potential run off @Low Time for more than 3/4 of a gallon…I’m surprised it’s not spontaneously combusting…;> LOL
Watching here for sure! Good luck! @jeremyg
It’ll work out. @Low Is The Man!

Yes, as far as I know…

Thank you for the advice! I watered a few days ago and will wait until dry again to do that procedure! Since then it has improved though! I did see those readings too and was very lost at how it was still up and alive! This is hows shes been looking as of tonight

Good man J :muscle: hows that dryness coming along we ready to water yet? Remember that next time it needs watered we’re not going too instead we’re gonna make use of some purified.

What nutrients have you got dude?

Thank you! It was still a bit damp last night so im thinking either tonight after the lights been on for some time or tomorrow night it should definitely be dried out! Im gonna pick up a whole bunch of purified after I get off of work today! I currently have dyna grow-grow 7-9-5, which ive heard some good things about but still wasnt too sure on how great it is.

Try to water it when lights first come on that way you’ve got a full day of light aiding it to dry out.

Enlighten me on the nutes are they liquid form? Is that the only thing you have and have you put that in the soil yet?

They are in liquid form! I did give them once deluted in water probably 2-3 weeks ago, i had a coworker who had grown a few times and was mentioning i might need them soon at the time so I had given slightly less than what they recommended.

@InkedOldMan seen a post from February you had a recipe using the dyna grow - grow and some AN stuff. Could you kindly fill this guy in if there’s anything he may need to get?

By any chance is that when the symptoms start showing? :joy:

Remember what OgIncog said, in your soil you have roughly 6 weeks before adding nutes. So your next grow is already off to a better start

In the meantime we’ll see if Inkedoldman can provide any info if your nutes is ok as a standalone item or not. Then you’ll get your water, and we’ll flush the ppms out and bring it back up to proper levels with appropriate nutes.

Yeah it was :sob: i didnt know that about the dirt until it was said on this forum! im glad i know now though! i am definitely ready to get those ppms under control!

I use:
Dyna Grow & Bloom
CalMag
Big Bud
Bud Candy
Overdrive
Happy Frog soil

*HF has about a month of nutrients already in it, autos typically will only veg 4-5 wks. so I haven’t been feeding Dyna Grow except maybe a shot around day 30 *
