I didn’t end up watering yesterday because the soil was still pretty damp yet. I went to just check and put my finger in around an 1.5-1.75 inches and it was still damp, above that 1.5-.75in mark it is dry. I also got purified water today, should I wait a little yet to let it dry out a bit more down there? or water tonight?
Hello! I ended up watering today because thats when it felt the most dry! these are the measurement results after a little more than half a gallon of watering!
Hey again! I hope all is going well! I went to check on her today to see how she is doing and wow! she shot up a lot today and was almost within a few inches of the light! im glad i caught that and backed it up. i did notice still a lot of turned down and some up with burning tips. would you say i should flush based off of last runoff readings? heres how shes looking:
What up J! Plant looks better, your new growth looks ok but there is still some burnt tips on them, add in the fact your last ppm was still 3k+ I personally would still flush next watering
What light you runnin?
Thats the ionboard 100watt?
Might not be enough to get you through flower growmie. If you have the controller make sure its up full power and if you dont have it they set to max by default. They’re lights are great tho i use the evo04 from them so who knows maybe it will be enough but i doubt it.
If your plant is stretching it needs more light, it should only be stretching to the point its touching lights in flowering.
Unless its making way for branches and you had the light too low to begin with but i dont think so.
@Dinky
It is and I do have the controller! It was at about 8/10 intensity but I just turned it up! You don’t think that will make me through flowering?
thats sad to hear, ill have to hopefully be able to save for a different light, theyre so expensive!
I had gotten one of the smaller grow setups that ac infinity has on their website but didnt like how small the tent was so I upgrade to a vivosun 2x4 and moved all the ac infinity internals!
It didnt seem like it was stretching too much, i feel like i did have the light a bit close and hadn’t backed it up in awhile to maintain a certain distance! Did it look like it was stretching in the photos?
Yea unfortunately i dont think it will give you what you’re looking for.
Its not stretching too bad maybe a bit, turn those lights up tho.
Do you have any recommendations for affordable lights then? I got a recommendation from a friend saying the spiderfarmer sf2000 lm301H evo 200W was pretty good.
I did turn the intensity up to 10 now and have it at a respectable distance!
I only have experience with AC and everyone recommends them or HLG.
You could go with ACion200watt and run the two and you’d be flying.
They have a 240watt and 300watt also. You coud get one of them and flower in one tent. And then use the 100watt to veg in your other tent seeing as you have a second tent. Thay way you’ll always have something flowering and something to take its place after harvest ![]()
The light is the most important part, trust me i was hesitant at first but what you get back after from just your first harvest is so worth it.
@Dinky
So you would recommend the IonBoard S24 then? Ill hopefully be able to get that soon, im just not 100% on when just because money’s been tight! I would love to eventually get to be able to do that and just have something always ready for harvest! I have been planning something like that from the get go to be honest but I just was seeing how well I could do with my first plant here!
Yes i would recommend that as a bare minimum, it will give you results you will be happy with.
Two things:
-
Make sure to get the right shape for your space, theres a square and a rectangular one.
-
Make sure to get the VERSION 2 which has the LM301H chips, they’re better and same price as the older 301B’s
Oh and do a price comparison check on the Evo lights
Okay that sounds good! I do see the commercial 2x4 280W evo3 is currently $319, would you recommend something like that over the ionboard 220W? the just run the evo3 or run both the 280w evo3 and my 100w. The evo 4 says its for a 3x3 otherwise i would go for that one. the price difference is currently only $40.
As long as rent and bills are paid i recommend as much wattage as possible that evo3 would be sweet for sure
I did end up getting the evo3 and have it arriving today to setup! Should I just run that standalone then? or in conjunction with the 100w?
Ah congratulations man you’re gonna love it! I would run it by itself at about 70% for now, you will have to adjust the height as you see fit. Have the driver outside your tent for the sake of heat, the lead should be long enough and if not there’ll be an extension with it.
Ya know what, maybe even 60% and bump it up to 70 the following
@jeremyg Hey looking much better I’d keep on with the plain ph’d water only no nutes yet. @Dinky got you covered well here!
I’m only on every now and then, sorry for the late reply!
Also Congrats on your new light! That will make a huge difference coming up in flower for sure! Just make sure she is fairly dry before watering heavy!
@Dinky
I got it all setup now! I did put that huge driver outside of the tent but the light itself definitely creates some heat! I was sitting around 78F before but now average 84FThe size too is perfect, it covers just about the entire top of the tent!
@lovenature
All good! Im glad you got to see how shes doing! I will definitely give a good amount of time in between waters and no nutes for some time!
Hey! I hope all is going well! I wanted to give an update since its been a good bit of time! I watered about 3 days ago and am planning to water again tomorrow! I forgot to get picture last time but the ppm was around the same as last water and the ph out was about 6.4! With the ppms still so high do you recommend a flush?
Here is how shes lookin!
Your new growth looks nice dude its up to you, personally i would want to see my numbers down faster so i would probably flush but you might be ok the way things are going, totally up to you👌
